It may be missing the quick release plate that attaches to the camera, then mounts ontothe head. Look at http://www.tripodquickrelease.com they sell those parts for other breands, maybe they can help you.

SOURCE: DONT KNOW HOW CAMERA GOES ON TRIPOD WILL ANY

It is usually obvious where the camera goes, so I am pretty sure that what you have is a tripod with a quick release plate that doesn't have the quick release plate fitted. This is very common when you buy a tripod second-hand. The quick release plates get attached to a camera and people forget to reunite them with the tripod before disposing of it.

If you bought the tripod new, then look in the packaging for a plate with a screw to attach to the normal camera tripod screw in socket. There ought to be more than one. The screw is standard throughout the world, except maybe Germany that used to use a different size. Any camera you have will have this socket on the bottom, a threaded hole about a quarter inch (5 or 6mm) in diameter. The plate will be a design peculiar to this make of tripod, and if you lose it or don't have it you will be unlikely to get another.

Targus Tripod TG-P60T is binding while panning horizontally, how can I resolve this issue?

There are two issues I'd like to help resolve here.
They are 'binding while I'm panning' and 'binding when I start to pan'.

Binding while I'm panning...
There is a large knob on the side of the panhead that needs to be loosened slightly. I have seen some folks loosen the panning handle because they believe it to release the panning mechanism.
Also, be sure that the camera you are using is not too heavy. There's a 5lb (2.2kg) limit and that can also cause undue strain.

Binding when I start to pan...
When panning, I advise our students to begin their pan a couple of feet ahead of the actual scene they'd like to pan and finish a couple of feet after the scene. This allows for a smooth pan after you overcome the inertia in getting the pan head to move and doesn't result in a jerky stop. It's straightforward to edit out these lead in and lead out sections.

Hope this helps.

you can hang your camera bag from it so the light weight tripod has more mass attached to it so it is more stable.

Need platform for targus 5060

Try www.TripodQuickRelease.com for that part. There is listed the widest selection of quick releases and support more brands than any other web site I've seen. Targus parts exactly will be hard to get so you may have to measure the opening of the quick release hole and work from there.

Lost quick release plate on Targus TGT-66TR 66'' Tripod

Try www.TripodQuickRelease.com for that part. There is listed the widest selection of quick releases and support more brands than any other web site I’ve seen. Because your tripod is not supported by the manufacturer; parts lists and pars are not available, you should measure the opening and see what other brand quick releases will work paying attention to the shape and locking mechanism. Otherwise just get another tripod
