Question about Whirlpool Gold 24 in BuiltIn Dishwasher w Adaptive Wash Cycle 24 in Builtin Dishwasher

1 Answer

I have a Whirlpool ADP6515. It's been working fine for about 2 years now but recently cycles are not completing properly, it can run for 30-40 minutes depending upon cycle. The start light is flashing a 4 times repeatedly, I think this happens when it moves from a wash to a pump cycle but not sure. We have to hold down the start button to force it to go to the end of the cycle and the the lights stop. If we do that we can then use the dishwasher the next time, but only after we force it to go to he end. I've given it a good cleaning, the arms, the filters and removed any visible food when I pulled all the removable parts in the bottom out. A repair guy has replaced the console, the heating/thermostats parts but it still has not fixed it. I don't think he knows what the problem is really. Do you?

While replacing the console board, the replacement should be of same
version. The boards are using programmable IC. Hence matching the
software version is a must. Only the manufacturer or his authorized
provider can help regarding this.

If a version board is installed ask for a new operating manual
matching to the supplied console board.

The problem existed prior to the console replacement. All parts described were swapped post support call. Basically none of what the repairman has done has altered the problem in any way. I only added the list of parts so we they could be discounted as the fault. The issue with the stopping mid cycle and the START led flashing 4 times repeatedly still exists.

I can not get the user guide manual!
The fault logic- four led blinks, pl refer to your manual as what it means. Unless there is fault condition detection the error light will not blink.
Since you have already checked all the input and out put water flow systems there is nothing left now. But I request you to check in all wash programs. Pull the drain hose and keep it in a container outside. Check whether leakage is noticed! May be the water level drop inside the machine may be sensed! Check rinse-aid

Clean mode electric current went off was off 10mentis when it came back on oven didnt

I have a whirlpool double oven too and replaced the control board last year the problem started with a F06 code and would reset when I power cycled for a while until it completely quit. Changing the control board fixed that problem. I just used my self cleaning cycle recently and the oven went completely blank on the control panel. Power cycle didn't do any thing. I checked 2 of the thermal cutoff fuses that are shown on most of the parts listing but the problem was with one that is not shown. The link below will get you to the part I replaced it's the power feed to the control board. Turns out that the worst thing you can do to your oven is use the self clean feature. Oven Thermal Fuse

Whirlpool Gold dishwasher not cleaning dishes. It runs through the cycles and rinses, but dishes are not completely clean.

I had a similar problem with my last two dishwashers, with food still left on the dishes at the end of the cycle. What a nightmare. The most recent dishwasher is new, now the problem is solved. Here's what the manufacturer told me. Pour white vinegar (approximately 2 cups) into the dishwasher and run through the cycle. Buy some Cascade Complete and only use this type of soap for the dishwasher. Make sure you run a cup or two of the white vinegar through the dishwasher cycle once a week. My dishes are now clean and clear!!

Won't clean-looks to run properly

check the sump area below the pump and clean out any waste food debris, etc. and also the drain check valve,it may be plugged and not draining waste water completely or not closing completely and letting waste water back into the sump and this could be getting back through the pump and sprayed back onto your dishes

look inside your lint trap to see if it is clogged. Also remove your vent hose to check for clogs there and at the outlet. make sure your hose isn't kinked.

Whirlpool gold dishwasher gets stuck at 53 minutes left for an hour

Try "resetting" the control board by running the diagnostic cycle. The cycle completes in 15 minutes.
The details are in the service manual. The manual can be found hidden behind the tow plate (at the very bottom front of the washer).
The diagnostic cycle may tell you the problem. It also helps clear up some of the software gltiches.
It is easy to run the diagnostic cycle.
Just the buttons in the following sequence. The sequence should be complete within 6 sec.
heated dry -> Normal -> heated dry -> Normal
This will trigger diagnostic cycle of 19 intervals. Pay special attention to the intervals 18, 17, 9, 6, 4.
Interval 18 - displays your controller module number (should be letter 'd' followed by number 0 or 1 or 2 or something. Note that down for future reference.
Interval 17 displays 'software generation number' Note that down for future reference.
Then wait until you reach interval 9.  --- clean LED turns on - then an open or shorted thermister is detected.
-- Sanitized LED turns on - then the washer detected greater than 100 deg F temperature
Interval 7
-- Soaking/sensing LED should NOT come on (unless food soil is present).
Interval 4 -- Soaking/sensing LED should come on

Let the cycle complete and then try running the normal wash. Hopefully the possible glitches are cleared by now and you should have no problem.
If this doesn't work, time to call the expert tech.

Rinse cycle, water won't work

It sounds like you either use warm or hot water for the wash cycle. If this is the case, you probably have a cold water solenoid problem on your water inlet valve (also known as a mixing valve on some washers). Most people use warm or hot water on the wash cycle. The water inlet valve has two solenoids. One for hot and one for cold. It uses a combination of the hot and cold solenoids to make warm water. The rinse cycle on most washers is a cold water rinse only, however. This would explain why the water appears to flow normally when it fills during the wash, and only trickles when it rinses. If you live in an area that has hard water, or if you use well water, these valves commonly clog with sediment. You can shut off the water, remove the hoses, and attempt to clean the sediment screens to see if the water flow improves. If it doesn't, you will need to replace the valve. The following link epxlains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r600647-replacing_water_inlet_valve_kenmore

I know the link says this is for a Kenmore or Whirlpool, but also applies to a Roper. A replacement valve can be ordered on line at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in the model number and the part you need is located under the "Controls and Rear Panel" heading as item number 18 (part #285805). This is a very simple and inexpensive fix if you wish to perform the repairs youself. Not to mention, you can potentially will save hundreds by avoiding the labor charges of a service call. I hope this helps you. If you require additional assistance, please let me know. Hopefully, a good cleaning will do and you won't require parts.

Drum filling with water

An obstruction in the water-inlet valve may mean that it's no longer able to shut off You can easily open the valve and clean it (from scale or other dirt). Be aware you should disconnect the power cable from machine before doing it !!!! Good luck !
