Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

We turned on our 1.5 hp air con Fujita on the heat setting, the compressor would run but the fan would not work. The compressor became noisier so we turned it off. On the cool cycle the compressor ran and the fan but it did not seem to be cold. This unit is brand new.

The compressor got noisier be cause the head preasure was going up putting a strain on the compressor check all your wires from the fan motor and make shure they are all hooked up and than check the capacitor for the fan it may be bad usualy it will leak fluid or be swollen when bad. but not allways if you can turn the fan by hand is prob. not bad its prob. another prob causing it not to turn

Heat pump compressor/fan/air handler runs heat for 30 secs, then all stop. (Trane XR 11 HP w/honeywell T8411R thermostat). Capacitor good, new 5-2-1 hard-start kit added but didn't solve problem.

Sounds like low pressure. Are you losing low voltage to condenser? Backup heat not working likely due to a setting error or possibly a wiring issue.

Hi - I unplugged our Bosch fridge for an hour or so to do some painting around it, and it hasn't work properly since. The freezer is fine but the fridge isn't cooling. It is also much noisier than before....

I would unplug the refer again. Pull it out away from the wall. Get a vacuum cleaner or if not available compressed air from an air compressor. The proceed to clean under and behind the refer. Dust and dirt build up on the coils, fan blades and every where else under a refer. If air cannot circulate around the coils, cold your refer will not become. As well as the fan having been running while the debris were building up on it. Wasn't causing an issue. When fan restarted , it somehow became unbalanced and is making that extra noise for you. A cleanup should take care of both issues for you.

Why does the compressor for the air conditioner not go on even though the circulating fan does.

What sort of air con is it? If its a split or ducted with a separate outdoor unit, does the outdoor fan start ?

Fujita 3hp split system Compressor won't start

Ohm out the compressor...if it is new & getting the correct power, should be under warranty. You should not have to install a hard start kit on a new unit.

Hi, The air con in my 2003 Audi A6 1.9 tdi 130 is blowing warm air the air con rad is fully gassed and all fuses are ok . Thanks in advance for any advice on how to fix

The only other thing then would be if the compressor is turning, engaging, and the cooling fan working properly. You should either be able to see the compressor clutch engage, as the switch is energized, or at least hear it click loudly when the switch is energized. If it is not, then there are sensors for the low pressure/high pressure line to tell the compressor when to function, that also have to be checked.

As the engine runs with the compressor turning, one line should be hot/warm, the othe,r (larger diameter hose) should be cool/cold, if the system is working properly.

If the compressor is turning when you have the A/C turned on, then see if the cooling fan is running as well. It must run to remove the heat and cause the process to function properly.

Good luck!

You may have freon in system but compressor won't engage unless it's full under pressure. By jumping the the relay you're doing damage to compressor by running on low pressure. Have system evacuated and recharged to proper amount of freon - usually 4 lbs of freon

Have a bristol compressor fitted to a prototype air con unit designed for military application, been through a TUV vibration test and failed due to pipework failing, pipework repaired, pressure tested,...

Please check your compressor pumping.
How to check?
Keep pressure gauge in discharge pipe and also keep open suction pipe, test run. It builds the pressure up to 300 psi or slightly more than that. If it's less than 275psi, it's defective.

1998 Honda Accord interior ventilation fan has stopped working.

they are right the air conditioner has nothing to do with the fan running .. your air conditioner is operated by a pressure switch .when it gets low on freon it will not come on, which saves your compressor. your fan only blows the cold air the air conditioner puts in to the coils located inside your dash. which the blower then blows the air into the car.. now you are on the right track look some more you will find the round motor under that dash near the glove box and its held in there with usually 4 small bolts. and removal is easy if you can locate it.. one wire and 4 small bolts and out it comes .. you should be able to get one at a local parts store ..
