I've ir3300, which was giving me good result. my mechanic tried to clean the mirrors, and spoiled the settings somewhere and now when i take a copy 3/4th of paper comes out totally black, even if there is nothing on the glass platen. And now when I start the machine the LED blinks for 5-6 times then gets lit properly. Mechanic ran away saying that he cannot do anything. What could be the problem? how can I get it solved? can somebody help? - Shree

If your mechanic cleaned only the mirrors and this problem started, then he may have knocked one of the mirrors out of alignment. This could cause incorrect image reproduction. If he cleaned other areas of the machine, he could have damaged a main charge assembly. In any case I would contact a local Certified Canon dealer for repair and send your "running" Mechanic the bill.

Check your drum. if drum is ok clean the laser unit and clean the drum unit and chraging roller.
And clean the laser scanner lamp and the Mirror.
You must alert while cleaning the mirrors(Reflectors) don't use thinner, alcohol and stain removers for cleaning scanner lamp and mirror don't do that to movements the reflectors just open the copy board glass and clean with a cotton.

One side of my copy fades on the A4 sheet, i use IR3300 copier.what is the problem?


take out a internal report on A4 .if it ok then the problem is from optics and u have to clean it .if the report is also faded then the laser unit is dirty so u have to take it out if ur a rep and clean it with simple white cloth for dust on mirrors

That means that you have to clean copy glass , lenses, ccd,...maybe even laser unit if you know how.
On digital machines dirty optics means light copy, on analog oposite, dirty optics dark copies.

Just one more question how do you mean " charge toner"?

check all your plugs... and connections.... broken plugs or connectors can cause issues... clean the copier... clean the optics... with a clean cloth... then make a copy... if not good... then make an internal printout...like a status report... if good... then the problem is in your optics... clean optics... blow stuff out with an air can... clean mirrors... if bad then check your drum and fuser... check for problems... try matching marks... then clean your ccd... generally this is a very thin piece of plastic that acts like a laser... sometimes it gets dirty... if still unable to fix... at this point I would call a service technician

Too Black & White


Have you cleaned the optic's resently? You most likely need a New Drum and Cleaning blade. If I were you, I would first try to clean the scanning lamp & reflecyor with alchol. Before I forget un-plug the copier first. Then with a dry rag wipe off the dust from the there mirrors that you can see. If you really want too you can also take the Black Box off and clean the two mirrors under that. Reinstall, what was removed inclueding the copy board glass and plug it back in and see what the copis look like.. They should come out better.....There is more that can be done, but first see what that can do for you without spending any Money......

Black line when scanning or copying


If the line only appears when the scanner is used & not when printing directly from the computer, you are correct in assuming the problem lies in the scanner assy. There should be mirrors attached to the scanner assy which will gather dust and cause copy/scan problems. Remove the glass & clean the mirrors with a DRY cotton cloth. Do not use any cleaning solution on the mirrors as they are sometimes treated & can be ruined if they come in contact with a cleaning solution. Use the dry cloth to wipe off the lens while you have it apart.Also clean both sides of the copy glass while you have it off. Reinstall glass & test.Cleaning the optics solves the problem most of the time. Good Luck!!
