Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hi ,
I'm afraid you're to restart or even reinstall your game unless right clicking on the mouse and selecting " refresh " has solved your issue .

Picture on my lap top screen keeps dropping down, when i am playing games..can I stop this.

You might wanna terminate the process that causes that picture to drop down frequently.

Goto : Start > Run
Type : msconfig
Press : Enter

Now you should see the System Configuration Utility.
From here, open the "startup" tab and disable any possible/unwanted program that you think is causing trouble.
Restart your computer & Voila!

#Alternative
Press : Ctrl+Alt+Delete to open Task Manager
Under the processes tab, find the process (if you've identified) it and click on "End Process"

Tip : Window Title is shown on the right side of the process.

I lost the Sims2 "Happy

You will have to contact EA support to retrieve the registration codes. Be sure to have the following information handy (for verification purposes):
  • Email address
  • Screen name(s)
  • Game
  • Billing information (if on file)
  • Secret question (if on file)
  • Date of birth
The link above will require you to log in to your EA account. Apparently, they used to allow viewing the codes for ALL your registered games when you log in, but now, you will have to contact them through the web app.

How do I remove (uninstall) the sims 2, sims seasons and sims teen style stuff from my computer?

Hi akach564,
I saw your post wanting to uninstall The Sims 2 and the other Expansions that you have for it, since you did not mention what version of Windows you have I will be giving several way to remove The Sims2 and it's Expansions.
Win XP:
  • Click on Start, then click on Control Panel, in Control Panel look for Add Remove Programs.
  • In Add or Remove Programs it will be Alphabetically arranged look for The Sims or Sims2 and you should see the other Expansions underneath it , on the right side of The Sims2 and its Expansions you will see a button that will say change / remove.
  • Click on Change/Remove this will prompt you if you are sure you want to uninstall this program.
  • Just click on YES since we are uninstalling the program The Sims2.
  • Do the same for the Expansions of The Sims2 to uninstall them.
If the Sims2 and its Expansions are not located anywhere in the Add or Remove Programs then you will need to manually uninstall them one by one from the location where the folders of each is located C: or which ever location / folder you installed them.
In each folder of the Sims2 / Expansions you will need to click open each folder and look for the uninstall icon and double click on it to uninstall The Sims2 to the same for the Expansions of The Sims2 for uninstalaltion.
Win Vista / Win7:
  • Click on Start, then click on Control Panel, in Control Panel look for Programs it will say uninstall programs under it click on uninstall programs this will open Programs and Features.
  • In Programs and Features it will be Alphabetically arranged look for The Sims or Sims2 and you should see the other Expansions underneath it , on the right side of The Sims2 and its Expansions you will see a button that will say change / remove.
  • Click on Change/Remove this will prompt you if you are sure you want to uninstall this program.
  • Click on YES to Uninstall the Sims2 and do the same for the Sims2 Expansions program/game.
If the Sims2 and its Expansions are not located anywhere in the Add or Remove Programs then you will need to manually uninstall them one by one from the location where the folders of each is located C: or which ever location / folder you installed them.

I hope that this will be of help Uninstalling The Sims2 and it's Expansions game from your computer.

Searchindexer.exe eating cpu

The fasted way is to simply disable the Windows Search service. Run
Services (just type “Services” at the Start Search bar), right click on the
Windows Search service and select “Properties”. Then choose “Disabled” for
the start type. Afterwards, you have to stop this service by right clicking
on it and selecting “Stop”.

Microsoft updates

If it just started to do this due to some update, a simple System Restore to the day before this started.

Instead of dealing with such workarounds, it is probably better to use Parental Controls (Vista), the replacement for it http://download.live.com/familysafety (made for Windows 7, compatible with XP) or software like Cybersitter, netnanny etc.

Anyway hopefully a system restore will work, but the update will return (if you want to keep the system fully updated as you say)

  • Start
  • Programs
  • Accessories
  • System Tools
  • System Restore
This forum will have more and more family security articles soon

http://www.capitaltechmd.com/index.php?option=com_agora&task=viewforum&id=35&Itemid=19

in XP Home individual updates can be removed by going to Add/Remove Programs and clicking Show Updates (not recommended unless you are certain what updates do and how it will affect the system)

Hope this helps
