Use a small pin bend it a little....and pull it out from the small gap on the side of the drive lid...do this when keep pressing the drive open button.....it may be struck....just try...

my advised was based on some assumptions....old drives give these kind of issues...and i myself use this technique to open the drive sometimes...and there is no harm in it also....but as u say it's NEW...then it should work like.... knife thru butter....if it's been take by the service personal 4 times then i guess there should not be any issue with the drive physically.....some issue on the motherboard SATA socket that connects the connector to the drive...... or the connector of the drive....or the power cable that connects the drive to the motherboard / power unit....

Cd rom drive door keeps opening up when in, it won't start cd

Try to this. Start - Right Click My Computer - Properties - Hardware - Device
Manager - CDROM - Properties - Disable. See if it Stops then enable it again.
Look at cdrom button it might obstructed or pressed in, try pulling and pressing. Or it could be a program/driver problem. Try restoring your pc the day before it happen.

I put the cd rom into the drive and nothing happens. I go to click on the icon under my computer and it causes the window not to respond.

Confirm that the CD drive is not a CD-ROM dive and the CD you are trying to open is is not a DVD. CD-ROM drive wil not open a DVD ROM and in some cases will cause the system to stop responding if youtry to run it.

Try deleting it in the device manager and then reboot your computer to see if it will detect it, then when it asks, point it to the driver.

DVD/CD ROM does not open

There should be a small hole on the front panel of the DVD-ROM. Take a paper clip and insert it into the hole and push to open the tray. If the DVD-ROM tray continues to malfunction, you'll need to replace it. DVD-ROMS run anywhere from $25.00 to $75.00.
