Question about Dell Latitude D510 Notebook
This could be a Windows password or a system password or both. If you don't have the Windows password and the former owner can't tell you what it is, you might have to erase the disk, reinstall Windows and thus solve the problem. A System password is a theft protection that can only be changed if you know the password. It is embedded in the laptop hardware. Ask the former owner what the password is, otherwise there is no solution but to ask Dell Service.
