Hi - Ross - Yes there is. Are you running a desktop? Do you have a good friend that is using a desktop? You can take out your daughter's hard drive and place it another machine and then burn some dvds with the info and pictures. You wouldn't swap it out with the hard in the other machine, you'd add it as an extra drive. If you think this is a possibility and need help as far as the exact steps let me know and I'd be happy to help. You wouldn't damage the other pc. You'd just add the hard drive, burn the dvds and remove it. There's also external cases, just like the ones used for external cd/dvd writers that you can purchase empty and put the hard drive in and then just hook up to your pc and then just pull the info off. But then it would just be sitting there if she gets another computer. I'd go with the first way if possible. Then once you got the info you could reformat the drive and add to a new pc if she gets one so she'd have two drives. Stay away from eMachines. They use "inexpensive" parts if you know what I mean. If the power supply goes out on those things it take the motherboard with it. If you need help with anything just holler. Thanks.
Jeff
