Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Hi. My HP 6110 has been turned off. When I turn it back on it is saying "scanner failure" and advises to turn it off again. When I turn it off and on again it is saying the same thing. I have done this about 10 times without any success. Do you know how to fix this. I don't really use the scanner but this is preventing me from faxing, printing and photocoping.

    Hi supernova,

Thanks for that. Do you know where I would buy the required screw driver.

It doesn't appear to be a phillips screw driver.

    Cheers

    Hi,
Thanks for the proposed solution. I have tryed what you suggested but it is still not working. Is there any way to disable the scanner in order to get the other functionality working. Thanks again.

Hi,
this caused due to the dirty glasses.
Follow the procedure below
1.Unplug the unit, removed the 3 screws above the glass, and the one screw on the right of the glass. 2.Pop off the silver display (the plastic part that tells which each button is.) Revealed under is the button control panel. 3.There is a locking latch on the right side of the button control panel, push it up and move the whole panel over to the left. 4. Lift that piece up and you are left with (2) tabs (one on each side) that hold the scanner onto the unit, placed a flat screw driver under them and pop it up the scanner. 5.The top of the unit should be loose, keep all the cables plugged in and carefully turned over the top of the unit. 6. use eyeglass cleaner. 7.Lubricate the rod also.
Your scanner will work fine
Thank You

How do I solve the "scanner failure power off and on again" message for an h.p. 6110 officjet all-in-one printer/scanner/fax?

Hi Paul,

Scanner Failure usually results in Hardware Failure. However there is one step you can try. Try connecting the printer directly to wall outlet or any other power outlet and the issue should be resolved.

Regards,
Sean
