A flower symbol means MACRO. If you want to take photos up close, like a bee on a flower, you use this option.

When I try to turn my flash on it says macro mode, What is this and how do I fix it?

Macro mode is for taking pictures of subjects very close to the camera. In this mode the flash is disabled.

Without knowing the model of your Digital Concepts camera I can't tell you how to take it out of macro mode. If there's a button on the back marked with a flower icon, press it. Otherwise look in the menu.

I have a vivitar vivicam t027 and there is a slidding button on the side with a flower and I don't know how to describe it maybe a triangle. What does that switch do?

That's the macro switch. In the flower position the camera only focus on subjects close to the lens. This lets you take pictures of flowers and insects, for example. The other symbol is a mountain and in this position the camera focus on objects farther away. You want to use this setting for most subjects, like people and scenery.

You cannot use the flash in macro mode. It's all described on page 12 of the manual. If you need a manual, you can download one from the manufacturer's web site at

The flash is in macro mode. What does that mean and how do I get the flash to turn on?

The macro mode is for taking pictures of subjects very close to the camera. The camera disables the flash in this mode. There's a switch on the left side of the camera, near the USB port. Slide this switch away from the flower symbol and toward the mountain symbol to switch out of the macro mode.

Hi...Please can you tell me what the two symbols on the side of the camera represent? There's a flower and what looks like a mountain (?) . I've recently been given this camera by my Dad..It's great but...

The flower means close up and the mountain means distant. These are settings for the focus. Sometimes there is a middle setting for snaps of people in the near but not really close up distance.

What do the symbols inside the soap drawer mean. One is obviously for soap powder, one has a sort of simple flower symbol and the other a kind of W symbol. Which is bleach and which isfabric softner? E...

Hi, Hope this help's, the flower type symbol is for the fabric softner, that would leave the other for bleach. If it is a "W" it may stand for whites. Thank's for visiting "fixya" and I hope this answer's your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Good luck, macmarkus :)

Can't use macro

Select Macro Mode - this is a fairly obvious first step but I’m always surprised by how many digital camera owners haven’t explored the shooting modes that their camera has. Macro mode is generally symbolized with a little flower and when selected it will tell your camera that you want to focus on a subject closer to your lens than normal (the minimum distance allowed will vary from camera to camera - consult your instruction manual to find yours). Macro mode will also usually tell your camera to choose a large aperture so that your subject is in focus but the background is not.

Symbols on the Dishwasher

The circle that looks like a sunny side up egg? That's the super hot sanitary rinse.. the other symbols simply mean lots of plates only, plates with glasses, or the short section means rinse.
