Only the portable heaters that are manufactured to be used on dual fuel (nat gas/propane) can switch from one to another. If they are made for 1 type of gas only, they are not field serviceable and cannot be converted. Douglas

Actually, the RN30 is for natural gas (N=natural gas) and the RP30 is for propane (P=Propane).

It is propane already, the RN30 is a LP (liquid propane) forced air open space heater mainly used for shops or construction. Now if you want to switch a device that is manufactured for one fuel source to another (i.e. LP to Natural gas) you need the following. A regulator that is designed for the fuel you seek to use, (the regulator will provide the pressure drop allowing for proper air fuel mixture, aways make sure you have adequate combustion air for your fuel source as well). You will also need the correct orifice size for the fuel spraying tip, nozzle, injector, etc. Any appliance that uses on gas can be converted to another with the correct parts. Some manufactures of appliances make Lp or natural gas conversion kits.
-things to think about- if you are going from propane to natural gas you almost always step down in gas pressure, and 1 cubic foot LP requires 24 cubic feet of combustion air to properly burn and has 2500 btus per cubic foot, and is about 1.5 times heaver than air. 1 cubic foot of natural gas requires 10 cubic feet of combustion air and has an average of 1050 btus per cubic foot and is about 60% the weight of air.

If it has a position for natural gas/propane then it needs to be changed to the position that the gas source is either propane or natural gas..

I have a kenmore ellite bbq model 141.16691 propane - I want to convert to natural gas, there is no conversion kit to make it but the natural gas model 141.17691 is exactly the same - just natural gas. If...

Many manufacturers make grills in propane and natural gas, but are not convertible from one gas type to another. The reason being safety. Each grill model, whether it's Natural Gas or Propane is tested and approved for that one specific gas type and that alone. Converting it would put all the responsibility on you, if something was to go wrong.

I suspect in part, the reason you want to convert is so that you want have to refill the propane tank any longer. But, you may want to consider this against convenience. Propane Gas burns cleaner and hotter than Natural Gas in an outdoor environment. Which boils down to lower high end temperatures, longer preheating times and the expense of running an approved gas line to the grill for Natural Gas. Not to mention the cost conversion parts.

But, the decision is yours to make. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I am trying to switch a natural gas deep fryer to propane and cannot fimd the correct part

Hi there.
You can visit http://www.imperialrange.com , you can verify there the correct parts list for the model of your fryer for the conversion from natural to propane and you will be able to search there the nearest authorized parts and service provider in your area.
You will be needing burner orifice for propane, pilot orifice for propane (if available, if not, the whole pilot assembly), Gas valve spring for propane (if available, if not, the whole gas valve for propane).
Regards.

Converion kit to natural gas.

I don't believe Weber makes a gas conversion kit for your model grill. I say this, because your model grill comes two ways, Natural Gas or Propane. This indicates to me, that there's more than just changing the burner orifices involved.

I can tell you this ... If you could convert it to Natural Gas, you would soon discover that the grill doesn't preheat as fast as with propane. Nor, will it maintain heat as well as propane, in an outdoor environment. Propane burns cleaner and hotter than Natural Gas in an outdoor environment.

Sure, it may seem like a hassle to refill and change the tank, but I can assure you, you won't be satisfied with it's performance.

How do u switch it from natural gas to propane

You can purchase a set of propane gas orifices to swap out for the natural gas orifices that your unit has presently.
Contact a local appliance parts supplier and ask for the propane gas orifices for your specific model.
If you swap them out, you will be good to go.

Switched from natural gas to propane now oven flames up sides how do I fix? Model#362.75571691

Propane and natural gas are two different fuels and require adjustments to the appliances to which theye are connected. Typically, when converting to propane from natural gas, a pressure regulator and a change in gas jets are required. This is because propane has a different heating value (hotter) and behaves differently.

Also, propane doesn't burn as cleanly as natural gas so after you have made the hardware changes, if you start to smell something in the kitchen, you may need to crack a window slightly to provide for better venting.

Please be careful

Hello. Contact your propane provider and they will get you the conversion kit for your maytag model. In fact, they will send a technician to your home for free to make the conversion for you.
If you want to do it yourself go to any appliance store that handles maytag and get the conversion kit. Then remove the orifices that are currently in the stove and replace them. Regards, Joe
