You have bad capacitors in this TV. I Have not repaired this model for quite some time. I do remember there are few caps to look for. I don't remember locations. But look for a 160 volt to 250 volt cap at 1 Mf. Look for a 200volt 100MF and a 200 volt to 250 volt 2.2Mf cap. And be sure to check all grounds to ICs attached to heatsinks. And there might be a 63 volt at 10Mf that is bad as well. These are all rated at 105 degrees. Anyway these are very good clues to get started with. I don't believe you have any bad ICs yet.

My ps3 turns on but no picture

First, how are you connecting? RCA jacks(red yellow white cords) or HDMI? If it's the RCA cords, they were known to develope shorts in the yellow cord that connects to your TV. Just try another cord. They are very cheap, and the cords from all of the other Playstations will work for the PS3. Second, try to do a picture reset on your system. Sometimes, going from HDMI, back to the RCA confuses the system because the RCA connections are NOT detected automatically, HDMI is. To do a picture reset, turn the system on, then push the power button once,(you'll hear a beep) then push and hold the power button until the system shuts off.(you should hear 2 beeps) Then when you turn the system back on, the picture will be reset. ^^ Good luck, and I hope this helps.

I have a Samsung pn42a450 plasma tv when you push the on button you can hear it turn on but there's no picture or other sound

Hello,

That TV is covered under a class action settlement from Samsung due to power supply issues. You should be able to get the unit repaired free of charge by contacting Samsung. You can get more information about the class action settlement here:

Look for a button on the TV that says 'source'. Push it and wait for a few seconds, if the picture does not come back, push it again and wait a few more seconds. Do this until you have cycled through all of the input sources for your TV.

The playstation is connected to the tv. I can hear the sound but there is no picture.

Have you changed the connection you have the PS3 hooked up to the TV with? If so, instead of pushing the PS button on the controller to turn the console on, push and hold the power button on the console for a few seconds. You should get picture shortly after. This resets the PS3's output settings and makes it detect the type of connection you are using.
