Question about Maximatic DRC-100 X 10-Cup Rice Cooker

1 Answer

I purchased the elite rice cooker short of four months ago. I've used it 10-12 times since the time of purchase. Up until now i was in love with it, i told everyone how great it was but tonight im not so happy. My dinner was 20 mins ready of being served. So i added my rice, poured in the water, gave it a stir, and turned it on..... Wait...... No lights... Okay so ill try another plug. After trying two more plugs all of which worked my other appliances just fine my rice cooker simply wont turn on. I tried taking the pot out and replacing it, I checked the plug connecting to the pot and the wall both which were fine. I checked the lid latch all fine. Still no power. So now i getting ready to serve my family dinner without the rice.... And im not real happy about it. Pleas remedy this problem and make me love my maximatic elite rice cooker once again.

Open the bottom side of your unit.. then check the resistance of thermal fuse, it's look like resistor which is connected to line wire, usually covered by insulator..

Purchased Durabrand Rice Cooker model HRC 18G working fine Is there a User manual for this cooker? All that is needed is ratio of water to rice including plain long grain and Basmati rice for 1 - 4...

Instructions quoted from the Durabrand Rice Cooker model HRC 18G manual...... 1 cup of uncooked rice rice will make about 2 cups of cooked rice. Add rice to the inner pot. Maximum four cups uncooked rice for the model. Many varieties of rice can be used including basmati, wild rice, arborio risotto, saffron rice and long grain rice. Whole grains, such as barley can also be prepared with the rice cooker, follow instructions on the package.

For every cup (160ml) of raw rice, add 1-1/2cups of water. For stickier rice add slightly more water, for fluffier rice use slightly less water.

When your rice is cooked, the cooker will automatically switch to the warm function and the yellow warm light will turn on. The cooker will stay in the warm function untill is disconnected from the wall outlet. The cooker will keep the rice warm 158F - 212F

Hope this helps, its quoted right out of the manual I have for my cooker

Today I purchased a display model of the Farberware FRA10ST 10-Cup Rice Cooker at Linens & Things. It has all accessories, but came without box, instructions, or recipe book. Is it possible to receive a...

We purchased the same rice cooker from Linens and Things and it also was a display model. They let us test it before we purchased it because there were NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS, but we were only able to see that it turned on. After one time cooking with it, it stopped working and now we have lost our receipt to ship it in for a warranty claim so we are out of luck....We too, find it hard to locate any manuals, last time we buy out of box just to save $5.00!!!!

Rice cooker stopped working after one month's use

You probably should bring it to a service center. since youve mention a span of time not using your cooker, the thermal capacitor may be busted.

hope this helps.

Rice cooker

First you have to make sure that the power outlet is working fine using a Multi Tester. Next is disconnect the Power Plug from the Rice Cooker and test continuity within the cord.  make sure those two are both working good.  next step is to open the Rice Cooker Bottom.  Again using a multi tester, Test the continuity of the Thermostat, make sure multi tester setting is on the ohm setting. reading should be zero, if reading is higher than 200 ohms, the thermostat is defective.  Which is the reason why your cooker is not turning on is due to an open in the circuitry.  Check warranty with the store you purchased it from or the manufacturer of the rice cooker.
