Nope. That is a definate lens error. That is going to have to be sent into repairs.

Lens won't come back

If the battery is discharged then it is likely the lens is stuck . If you can get the battery to charge and then turn on the camera it should help the lens come back. The camera will not turn on when the battery charger is connected. So you will have to wait until the battery is charged and turn on the camera only after disconnecting the charger.

Camera is stuck with lens out and won't turn on or

If this camera takes ordinary batteries you may have inserted them the wrong way around.
If it takes a rechargeable pack recharge it for average time recommended and try again.

Lens is stuck with the barrel out. I hit power button and the light only turns orange then shuts off. If I hit playback button...says busy and shuts off.

I can't tell from your description what type of camera you are using, but it sounds like the battery is dead or dying.
It takes a lot of batter juice to open and shut the lens, and to power the LCD screen to view photos.
I hope this helps!

Get it repaired under warranty. Sounds like a logic circuit problem.

TIPS:

Do as i say..

4.) Move the gear manually to make the lens come out.

3.) Reinsert the battery.

or...
1.) Remove the battery.
2.) Try hooking it up through AC adapter, put correct voltage.

Lens cover only partially opens

This blog post outlines repair procedures for stuck lens covers. An A400 is used as an example. But it should be similar for the A430:

Lcd reads system error

Apparently often related to a lens motor malfunction. My old 4300 just gave this error for the first time today. The lens extended but made a whirring noise before the message popped up. Nothing I tried would fix it - but after I drove home it worked fine again.

I had a similar problem over a year ago after the camera fell out of my backpack (it was in its own bag but not well padded). When I used it the lens stuck and refused to retract, but I don't recall a "System Error" message. After a few tries, the lens went in and it's been fine since, until today.

Make sure there's nothing (dust, dirt) stuck in the lens barrels. Otherwise, just keep turning it on and off and hope it works.
