The ignition switch is where you insert the key and turn the key , to start the vehicle.

Having the replacement switch you tell you a lot having a active key to turn to on position with help you depress the button on the switch in order to release the switch from the housing removing the any covering around the ignition might be required as well in order to get to the release button located on switch. Again your new switch will aid in this

I need to replace the ignition switch in my car

There is an Ignition switch that is located under the dash. On the other hand if your referring to where the ignition key goes in then this part is called an ignition cylinder. If it is the ignition cylinder (or tumbler) then yes the steering wheel must be removed to replace this and you will need special tools to do it. I would not suggest doing this yourself with no experience as there are lots of small pieces and parts in there. The ingition switch is located under the dash on the steering column and has a wire harness attached to it with numerouse wires. This is replaced by removing 2 small bolts and unplugging it. There is a rod running down the column that goes into a slot on the back side of the ignition switch. It must be placed in the hole where the old old was and then the switch may need adjusting forward or back to properly work.
Hope this helps.

No electricity to ignition switch

Check your fuses first. There is usually one inthe fuse box under the hood that is for your ignition. Also check any in the fuse box inside the vehicle. Use your owners manual it will tell you which location the ignition fuses are.

WIPERS AND DOME LIGHT AND POWER WINDOWS ONLY WORK WHEN YOU BUMP STARTER

This has been a common problem in fords. The issue is generally simple to fix. The Problem is the ignition switch. Not the Ignition tumbler where the key goes in but, the actual Electrical portion of the Switch.
Because you have not listed the exact year and model I will tell you that the ignition switch is generally located directly across from the key. This requires removing the sterring column cover over the ignition, just behind the steering wheel. Once removed you will see a switch located on the opposite side of the keys( Generally on the left) It will have a push on wiring harness and 2 or 3 mounting screws. Simply remove the wiring clip, remove the screws and then remove the switch. A switch can be purchased at your auto parts dealer. I do not recommend using a junk yard part unless you want to do this again in a few months.

Toyota landcruiser ignition switch

I am not 100% sure on toyota but most ignition switches you must remove the housing around the steering wheel to get to it . Its usually a large plastic componet on the left side behind the turn signal handle . It is always best to go to the local auto parts store and buy a haynes repair manual before attempting any repairs. Hope evereything turns out well for you !!
