I had the very same problem. I discovered that if I pushed on the battery and held it, the light would flash steadily indicating a charge. Apparently there were bad contacts between the battery and the camera.

I put a wad of paper between the battery and its' cover, to force the battery in farther. So far the light is steadily flashing, indicating the battery is finally charging.

What a poor way to work with a piece of new digital equipment the cost of this one and bearing the Kodak name.

Charger seems to have both red and green lites flashing at the same time no sequence and both batteries connected read 4.0 VDC, are these chargers repariable or throw aways

Your manual is here. The section on charging states, that green blinking means your battery is fully charged but blinking red means that your charger is faulty. I would say repairable.

1. Plug the female connector of the AC power cord (supplied) to the AC receptacle on the charger and plug in the male connector on the AC power cord into the wall outlet.

2. The On/Off LED indicator is blinking RED, this is abnormal. Unplug AC power cord from the on-board battery charger and wall outlet. Charger may need to be replaced. Contact an Invacare dealer or qualified technician.

3. When the On/Off LED indicator light is Off, charger is Off.

4. When the Charge LED indicator light is YELLOW, the batteries are charging.

5. When the Charge LED indicator light is solid GREEN, the batteries are fully charged (as their condition will allow).

6. When charging is complete, unplug the male connector of the AC power cord from the wall outlet and then unplug the female connector of the AC power cord from the AC receptacle on the charger.

Charger not working

When the red light is on it is to indicate that the charger is getting power from the wall outlet. If there is a second light that normally comes on Green when charging pay close attention to it when you first plug the charger in. See if it blinks even once then turns off. If it does that means the charger is not seeing any battery voltage at the plug that goes into the chair. If the green light does not blink at all then it usually means the charger is defective. Also most wheelchair battery chargers will not charge the batteries if the chair is to dead to even turn on.

If unused for any length of time, rechargeable batteries lose their ability to retain a charge. Try it with a brand new, fully-charged battery. FWIW, I recharge all my camera and flashgun batteries monthly.

Read page 16 of the manual. Do not use any other charger with this camera. Are you sure you have the battery inserted correctly? When trying to charge, does the green light blink? If so, when it stops blinking and turns off, the battery should be fully charged. Do not attempt to turn the camera on while the charger is trying to charge the battery.

MSDC is not a problem code. It is normal, the camera is informing you that it's connected to a computer. At this point you should see a new "drive" show up in my computer to transfer pictures.

Have you tried turning the camera on when plugged into a wall charger? If it turns on using the wall charger it might need a charge over night. If the camera will still not turn on after a charge the battery is dead and needs to be replaced.

Ok all mine had the same problem however problem has been solved! The power cord that plugs into the charger is a common cord you may have laying around the house. I switched the power cord to my charger and the dreaded blinking stopped! Its just a bad power cord to the charging unit! Hope this helps!

On my camera the battery charger light is blinking and the battery is not charging

Before you get creative and directly plug your batter into an AC adapter, try something much easier first. I have the same problem with my Olympus 770SW batteries. As silly as it sounds, the charger will only work in a select few outlets in my house that I found by trial an error, actually pure frustration. I suggest, go around your house and plug the blinking charger in all the outlets and see if you find one that works. That sounds a lot less shocking than solution 1 and 2 now doesn't it? Good luck!

WON"T WORK

sounds like a dead battery. Plug the origional charger into it and the front led (below the flash) should flash red. If the red led in the back of the camera flashes or stays lit, then you have the wrong charger plugged in. (the camera won't power up if the back red/green led is on when plugged in)
