Question about Philips 190B6CB/27 19" LCD

1 Answer

I have a Brightness box that came up on my Philips monitor, this morning. I pressed the Auto button but the box came back on. I also turned the computer off, then on again. It is still ther4e. I sits right in the middle of the screen and can not be moved to the side. so it is hard to read any information on the user manual disk. .I don't recall this happening before. I have had the monitor since 29. 4. 2007. Hope you can assist. Thanks Eleanor

Philips dcb152 05 display is very dim it's almost un-noticable. Is there anything i can do to make it brighter

yes. You can always use the contrast and brightness tabs in the monitor.

Go to the MENU of the monitor by pressing a button(prob it should on a side of the monitor).

Choose brightness and then increase it.

Background too white

I looked this up in my Dell 1908FBPL instructions which should be similar. On the lower right edge, you should have Brightness & Contrast and Auto Adjust controls. These controls interact so you may have to fiddle back and forth to get it right. First, note whether brightness becreases when you press and hold the down (-) button. Check to see whether Auto Adjust changes anything. Also try turning the monitor off then back on.

mcdevito75 here, You can try this, 1 of the buttons should say AUTO presss this button and the monitor will automatically adjust, and Or press the MENU button and see if there"s a brightness feature, I believe there is, you can use the little arrows on your monitor within the MENU options. First try the AUTO.

Cannot remove the brightness window that pops up on my Philips 190V monitor.

2 solutions (both worked in my case in different screens)

1 - Place a big clip (see photo) locking the [Auto] button before turning on the monitor. If you do so and the button stays pushed the menu will not appear.

2 - Unplug the monitor and pull out the [Up Arrow] button or the one that pops up the menu. A sharped knife and pliers will do. It sounds crazy but it worked in my case.

I'd recommend to try solution #1 first.

No warranties but it worked in my case.

Display problem

the adjustment box for colour, brightness and contrast stays fixed on the screen. i tried pressing the exit button.... after a few times it disappears only to reappear within a few minutes. also the auto adjustment option, for which we are supposed to manually press the i button, keeps auto adjusting the screen whenever it feels like it. the box appears right in middle of the screen and is a real nuisance as it blocks out the main portion.

Too bright

I just bought an Acer 19 inch this morning and I am assuming you have the same controls on the bottom of monitor. On mine I push the menu button twice....the left arrow once to select the brightness slider.....push the menu button again to turn slider red and active...then use your left or right arrows to adjust brightness...afterwards you use the menu to get you back to the exit button and that's it....I hope Don
