Question about Whirlpool Duet 7.0 Cu. Ft. Super Capacity Plus Gas Dryer

Open Question

Whirlpool duet GGW 9250 what about the drying time takes forever. I already replace the thermistor, its resistance test failed, I checked the vent lines, cleared all the vent from dryer up to the attic and finally I replaced the machine control electronics but it still takes forever to dry the clothes, even at manual drying, set at HI and set for 45 minutes. I could see the ignition and flame, but the flame only goes for 5 to 8 secs and stops, and 2 minutes later the flame goes up again for 5 to 8 secs. the whole time I check the ignitors and flame, it works good but for few seconds, is this normal? what is still there to replace? the high limit thermostat tested good as per the manual and so as the thermal fuse.

you still have a block somewhere.remove the duct that the lint filter slides into, make sure the outside vent is clear and blow out the vent line with a leaf blower,i told this to someone else and they blew a birds nest out of the line and they said the line was clear, also remove the t-stats on the blower wheel housing and check the back of them, sometimes lint and dust gets stuck on the back of them and they don't read right.if that looks fine change out the gas coils but i'd say you have a clog somewhere

The gas valve solenoid coils work when cool that's why the resistance reading is within the limit but fail when heated. Bypass the thermostat on the burner funnel and if the flame still goes out too soon, the coils are weak and both must be replaced. The resistance reading is reliable only when the dryer does not heat at all or shall we say the flame does not go on at all and the purpose is to check the continuity of the coil.

My danby dryer keeps shutting off and turning on and the clothes take forever to dry

GOD IS STILL GOOD !!!!

ELECTRIC Dryer no heat or little heat, or shuts down to fast:

Check your venting and lint basket. Check blower for lint build up and blower wheel obstruction., test by trying to turn the wheel manually by hand (should be easy) May have to remove cabinet or front/back plate to get to it)

Next check the heating element itself with a meter for continuity OHMS CLOSED CIRCUIT. If not its defective or has a short if its grounding out? Which in turns causes blown fuses or thermostats or overheating.

Check dryer Terminal block prongs both outside prongs should give combined 220, and 110 each if u check 1 outside & 1 center (ground) prong. Also check house electrical outlet for full voltage. 220 because if u only get half or 110 volts you will be able to run the machine which uses only 110 to run motor but not the heater which uses a full 220,

Check the thermal cut off, the cycling and the hi limit thermostats.
For continuity or OHMS. If no ohms or resistance they need replacement.

In some dryer's the control panel relies on a thermistor rather than a CYCLING thermostat to regulate the drum's air temperature by monitoring the component's resistance changes; resistance goes down as temperature increases and up when temperature decreases. Once the drum's air temperature reaches a certain level required to dry clothes, the control panel shuts off the heater. The panel will turn the heater on again and begin another heating cycle when the thermistor indicates that more heat is needed to keep the air temperature constant inside the drum

Lastly check your moister sensor. ( located inside the dryer door usually) Especially if machine seems to shut down early and clothes are still wet.
Test with a meter at room temperature and it should show continuity.
A failed moisture sensor will affect the dryer run time in the automatic moisture sensing cycle but it will not affect the heating of the dryer or the timed cycle. Which are reflected by the thermostats.

The dryer shuts off, keep getting an E1 code, what needs to be done

It sounds like this is a Whirlpool Duet or a Kenmore Elite Dryer due to the error code E1 being available only on this models. The problem here is an open thermistor as what error code E1 means. It's either the thermistor is exhibits an extremely high resistance or the wire harness connecting it to the control board is broken or cut open. Click on the link below for the detailed procedure in accessing the thermistor.

Whirlpool Duet and Kenmore Elite Electric Dryers Not Starting

Measure the resistance of the thermistor and refer the table below. Normal thermistor resistance is around 10000 ohms (10K) at room temperature.

Replace the thermistor if the resistance is significantly higher (or lower) than what it is supposed to be based on the resistance table above. Check the wire harness connecting it to the control board, if the resistance turns out good, and make sure the connectors are good and the wires are intact. Replace the wire harness if necessary. Consider replacing the control board if both the thermistor and the wire harness turn out good. The link below might enlighten you further on the troubleshooting of the thermistor.
