Question about Hotpoint WD62 Front Load Washer / Dryer

Hotpoint WD62 leaks heavily during spin cycle

I have a Hotpoint WD62, which has started to leak heavily during the spin cycle.

Could this be a relatively cheap fix, or should I think about getting a new one?

    Hi gittos73,

I have had a good look around the door seal, but cannot see any holes at all. If it is a problem with the door seal, would it not leak through the whole wash cycle, and not just the spin cycle?

    Hi gittos73,

OK, got to the bottom of the problem. It turned out to be a sock that was causing a blockage ... could have been embarrassing :-)

Anyway, thanks for all your help, you're a star!!

Hiya m8 check the door seal first you'll need to pull the seal slightly out to see under the flappy part they usually go there this will be the most likest leak u don't have to undue anything to do any of this and when u find the hole it will only be around £15 to get a new door seal u might have to run your fingers around under the flap to find it aswell m8 let me know if it is and ill tell u how to replace it m8

what happens is while it leaks it fills the bottom support around the washer after it fills up through time it then overflows and water starts to show so most of the time and doesnt look like it is leaking all the time what u can do is pull the washer out from were it is now undue the 2 screws at the back which hold the top on remove the top now with the washer being at least 10inch away from your worktop tilt it back so the top of the washer is on the worktop with about 6inch left of the top above the worktop thus will give u enough room to look underneath at the pump which will be on the left as u look under the washer if that is wet turn power off undue the pump with the 2 8ml bolts there will be water that will come out once the pipes are taken off the seal in between the 2 ends can be re-sealed by unduing them and placing a water-proof sealant between them then doing it all back up and leaving for at least 1hour for the sealant to go off put back together if the pump isnt wet then it also gives u space to look up at the door-seal but the hole could be at the top which u would be able too see when u take off the lid of the washer try all these then get back to me m8 peter

Unbelievable...leaking again!!!

take panel off at bottom rear. you will see a large diameter pipe going from bottom of machine to pump. undo pipe at machine end - carefull lots of water will come out. sock was probably in this pipe which also holds the filter
