Question about Sony Handycam DCR-HC14E Mini DV Digital Camcorder

I want to delete a part of what I recorded on my Handycam before I finalize it

Is there a way to delete a portion of what I recorded on my Handycam? During a recording session, I thought that I had gone on Standby, but that did not happen and the cam was still recording. I want to delete that portion and keep all the other scenes I recorded. I hope there is a way to edit the recording before finalizing the cd. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE! Abby

I'm confused by your ?-you state you have a HC14 Mini DV cam which is tape but your asking about dvd-if you have dvd you can only delete on rw discs-not r type-doesn't matter before or after just won't work-if not transfer to computer and edit that way and reburn new dvd

Technics rs-tr355 how to record live

Joe I can only give you what I had learned over the years recording Cantatas and choirs and soloists in church.1) If your mikes have switches TIE THEM WITH DOWN WITH DUCT TAPE You ask why I had artists that turn the mikes "Off" just for fun and after the session ask for a copy of the recording if it came out good. I disabled the switches in my mikes. 2) Put your mikes not at the artist but a little distance from them for is it is a sermon the preacher moves his/her head talking to the crowd.3) SERVICE your recorder and MAKE SURE THE HEADS ARE CLEAN USE VIRGIN TAPE if possible because there can a speck of the magnetic material come off and this prevent your erase head doing its work properly 4) If you record music, try to go to the practicing sessions so that you can grasp an idea for the optimum placing of you mikes. Keep your levels UNDER the "0" mark I leave them at maximum 10dB below the zero mark. Practice and try different positions of your mikes till you are satisfied. If you can invest in a microphone mixer and employ multiple mikes.5) If you buy a recording set get the most expensive cardioid microphone you can afford. If you upgrade later then just carry your mikes over to the new set.Why cardioide or heart shaped mikes they cancel out background noise.I did this the times that I did a lot of recordings. I have AKG UHER Sennheiser units that give me stirling service since 1966 I clip the plugs off about 40 mm from the plug and then resoldered the plugs back on I had no cable giving grief during recording sessions Have a spare mike on standby just so that you have no Murphy's law cases! HAVE FUN

Disk filled while recording/lost audio but says its still there

Often when one runs into the end of a storage medium, it becomes impossible to even transfer data,,, It seems like they often need a little bit of room to handle the headers and stuff.

When doing a recording session, it is often a good plan to have a backup recorder, even a tape unit that you can recover the data form.

I would suggest aa call to the manfacturer to see if they have any suggestion for recovery of your audio.

I would try to save the file, even if it doesn't appear to have audio at this point.

All protected & unprotected recordings lost - possibly moved to History. In My Recordings, one program was listed - a basketball game that we did not record. A day or two before these things happened,...

There are no history for your recordings, whatever shows up in your recording list is what you have. if this did this on its own then it sounds as if you have hard drive failure on your dvr and it will need to be replaced. Your protected events should never delete unless there is failure or deleted by a user.

I recorded a video in my sony handycam dvd and its haf it is showing a msg that do u want to make it recordable.i want to keep the previously recorded video and continue recording.what do i do...

The possibility of this varies from handycam to handycam but it is most likely related to the type of disk you are using.some disks can only record one session. it is important to read the instructions that came with the disk.generally disks marked 'DVD-R' can only record one session whereas disks marked DVD-RW can record several sessions and can even be erased and recorded on again as new.
pse reply if this helps you
