Hi, well this is most likely a Aspect Ratio issue, this can be set via the TV's Menu. You simply need to adjust this aspect ratio, to suit you viewing requirements.
It is all explained how to do this in your user manual, link provided below. http://www.devicemanuals.com/guide/Television/Symphonic/Symphonic-ST420FF-20-TV-Owner's-Manual-T0RVek16az.html

SOURCE: TV Screen picture reduced to one quarter in size.

You may have a bad capacitor. Do you have horzontal lines near the top? What is the model#? And what year? But ,yes indeed there is a bad cap inside your TV.

The picture is too big for the screen. How can I reduce the size of the picture? The manuel does not help.

Your TV probably has an on screen menu that would give you access to your picture size. If not check for controls on the rear of the set (HOR and VERT). Then there is the possibility that something on one of the internal circuit boards is causing either "blooming of the pix" or the software is telling the set to display an improper resolution. If the external doesn't work then it means a trip to the shop. Sorry :(

I accidentally touched a few buttons on my tv remote control and now the screen has reduced in size. Any idea how I can restore to normal size. Thanks

On your remote press the MENU button.
You will see that the Picture with the camera is highlighted.
Use the Big Right Arrow and move the highlighted box over to the Setup button.
Use the down arrow and select Restore Default.
That should do it.

You can use Microsoft Paint to reduce the physical size/crop your picture, or you can use a program called Winsoftmagic to reduce the physical size of JPEG pictures without cropping.

Connection to MAC Mini

No changes can be made to the picture size on the panel. Most PCs have a facility to reduce the size by software means to correct this sort of problem (for example in 'Display properties'). As for the Mac; since it's not my area of expertise I can't say for sure but I'd be suprised if it didn't have this feature.
