Question about Audiovox VM9512 Car DVD Player

1 Answer

I cant see video from ipod

Hi, i have a problem watching video from ipod on my Jensen device. during playback from ipod when i hit "video" button to play video from ipod, the unit returns control to ipod and it seems that it starts to wait for video signal from ipod, but in other hand if TV out is set to on in the ipod then the ipod shows the message "TV out is enabled. connect your video devise to start" and doesn't start to play the video. So there is a such kind of "dead lock", VM9512 is waiting for video signal and the source of video signal (means ipod) is waiting for video device connection. Could you please help me to avoid this problem? Is there any secret code on ipod or VM9512 to say "don't wait for video signal or dont wait for video device connection". Thanks.

    Hi All

I've got an answer from Jensen technical support. And the answers
is: You cant watch a video from new 5th generation iPod (which I
    have).

The problem is in Apple’s policy. They have encoded the new 5th
generation iPod to do not send the video signal to dock connector made by some
other but Apple. Apple has some chip integrated into their iPod video cable so
the iPod starts to send the video signal, otherwise it says “Please connect
    video device”.

The only way to get the video from iPod to VM9512 is to use Apple’s
iPod video cable and connect it to some AUX jack on VM9512 (I have connected it
    to AUX1 on VM9512).

    Regards

    Hi Sepa,

Can you tell me what type of connector you are using. Is it:

    a 3.5mm jack to 3xPhono
or is it the usb connector at the base of the ipod to 3xphono.

Also, do you know if it is Component or Composite?

    Many thanks
    Sean

During Playback you can press + or - buttons to adjust the volume. Maybe this is your problem. If you need more info watch video instructions chapters for Olympus on http://www.HandBookLive.com under Electronics-> Audio. There are 20 different video chapters. The info about + - buttons for volume during playback was chapter 7 (Playback)

Dvr4-alert full screen playback

That's because this is a quad. It compresses all 4 video feeds into 1 file. When you play it back, it decompresses the video and shows you each camera. Playback through this unit is the only way to see 1 camera at a time.
To be able to copy 1 camera shot to a DVD, this is what you need to do: You need to have a TV with Video in and Video out jacks.  Connect the Quad to the TV Video in jack and connect the TV Video out jack to your DVD Video in jack. Playback a single camera shot on the quad to the TV and hit record on your DVD. - The DVD will record whatever is shown on the TV.

No audio during playback

On my handycam you have to hit the Volume + button while playing back. Everytime you playback it starts volume at zero and you have to volume up to hear anytime you playback.
