SOURCE: How to disassemble crank bearing on Schwinn Mesa Mountain Bike

You wil need a couple of special tools, or be fairly creative with the tools you have.

  1. remove the dustcovers in the crank arms at the crank axle
  2. loosen the crank retaining nut/bolt.
  3. thread in a chank puller and pull the crank arms.
  4. remove the lock ring on the adjustable side of the crank axle (Requires lock ring wrench)
  5. remove adjustable bearing cup.
  6. remove axle and bearings
  7. replace or repair as needed.
Once you have it opened up ou can determine if you need new bearings or crank axle.
to assemble, reverse above procedure, insuring bearing play is minimalized.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Need a parts or owners

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

How do I correct the clanking noise in the rear of my Schwinn 24" Meridain Tricycle?

It could be that the chain needs tensioned, or if it is a coaster brake, the hub may need serviced. The noise could be coming from anywhere and your best bet is to have a qualified mechanic look at it.

Huffy boys bike makes clicking noise

does it make the "clicking" noise when coasting, pedaling or both? If it is only when pedaling, check to make sure the cranks are not rubbing on a chain guard or hitting the frame, if not then the chain is probably too tight and it is the gear cog teeth meshing with the tight chain. Loosen the rear axle nuts and slide the rear wheel forward slightly, this should take care of it. If the noise happens while coasting then one of the wheels could be rubbing on the frame intermittently, or the hub bearings could be too tight (also making it difficult for small legs to pedal) and the bearings are crushed and flattening making the "clicking" noise as they are being ground up.

When coasting the pedals keep moving so you have to continue to pedal and when peddling backwards the bike goes backwards, how do I stop this?

I assume that this bike normally has a coaster brake. If so, your coaster brake mechanism (inside the hub of the drive wheel) is jammed or broken. You will have to disasssemble the wheel hub. This bike might have a coaster brake on both rear wheels or maybe just one side. Lift both rear wheels off the ground and turn them independently to determine which side the problem is on.

It doesn't roll smooth there's a grinding when it's coasting and it's worse when im pedaling. What the problem. I just bought it too. How do I fix it?

Diagnosis first.

I'd advise you to apply your eyes and ears to the problem, paying particular attention to parts that move. A coasting noise is tire rub somewhere or some really bad bearings.

Pedaling adds the chain, pedals and crank bearings to the mix.

When freewheeling, is the clacking noise normal ? i've never had a trike.

Being a one-speed bike it should be virtually silent when coasting.

Determine what's hitting by walking the bike along a driveway and observing where the sound is coming from.

This might help, too, for general purposes.
