That's not good at all, this indicates major hardware failure, probably the power supply of the receiver / dvd. How old is this unit? Did you happen to buy it using a major credit card like American Express?

Thanks
Tim

I am trying to find a little bit more info on this particular unit before saying if it's worth repairing, but chances are it is not. The only way it may be worth repairing is if the speakers that came with it are the type that actually "plug" into the back of the system, as opposed to having wires that just simply connect in. If it is the wired type (which I hope it is) and doesn't have some proprietary Philips plug in system, you can just use it with any regular receiver and dvd player, which would be much less expensive than trying to repair this unit, and will actually work better, as most standard (even low end, used ones from ebay for example) receivers have much more power and range than this unit has.

Thanks so much, so sorry about the bad news :(

HTS3410D power light keeps blinking

This seems to be a common problem with this model. It seems as though there are about FIVE electrolytic capacitors in the power supply PC board that have failed or dried out.

They can be replaced by someone that has the dexterity, knowledge and tools to de-solder and re-solder PC board components. Otherwise you may seek a local electronic technician. The parts cost about $5.00. Labor may run you $30 or more.

Hope this helps. I also am looking for a remote for mine, if someone has a dead HTS-3410D.

Thanks!

How do I get my house dvd tray open it stuck and not dvd or cd is in it.

First attempt is to turn off the DVD Player, unplug the DVD player power cord from the electric supply, wait about 5 minutes, plug back the power cord, turn on the DVD player, press the open/close button.

If this does not work, the DVD player cover will have to be removed and the tray manually operated to determine the cause for it not being opened electronically. This might require the services of a technician.

Philips HTS3410D home theatre system. DVD is stuck inside - won't play, won't open. any ideas?

Power off the system
Unplug the power cord
Wait 5 minutes
Plug back the power cord
Power up the system
Press the open/close button
Load a DVD and play

If the tray still will not open, the cover will have to be removed and manually operated. You may have to have a technician look at the unit.
