SOURCE: my homelite weed wacker will only run in the choke

Check the fuel lines for breaks/cracks. If they are o.k. then you will need to clean the carburetor. Disassemble the carb. and spray with carb. cleaner. Make sure the small screen in carb. is free of debris. Use a Den Tek Brush,(http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000V5MQ7Y/ref=asc_df_B000V5MQ7Y820727?smid=AKZ54EXMVZHXW&tag=dealt5228-20&linkCode=asn), to clean the small portals in carb. Reassemble and start.
NOTE: If your carburetor internal parts are more than 4 yrs. old, you may want to replace them. So buy a carb. kit.

The idle screw isn't as important as the low/high setting on the carb. Start with one turn out on both low and high side settings.

Need to know the gas and oil mixture for a Homelite 2 cycle weed wacker

Check your manual for the proper gas-and-oil mixture. For almost all modern two-stroke engines, a 50-to-1 mixture is recommended. That requires about 2 1/2 oz. oil for every gallon of gasoline.

Istuctions for fuel line installation on weed wacker

The esiest way to figure it out is to take the line with the filter and put it on one nipple then push on the primer a few times and see if fuel comes out of the other, if no fuel then switch the line over to the other. But if im not mistaken the filter will go to the bottom.
