Depending upon which model you have, this can be a mechanical switch problem or an electronic one. Can you please update this with the model so I can provide more info?

Thanks,
Dan

The model is TT-02RX. It is brand new and has been doing this since I hooked it up.

If this unit is new, it is defective and you should not waste any time on this. Contact the place of purchase and request warranty service. You will void the warranty if you open this up. This model uses electronic switching and can not be "fixed" wihtout opening it up. Go the warranty repair route first and keep us posted.

Can i convert to a dvd i have a trv-35h elmo

You can very easily. You may use the S-VHS output on your Elmo ( a 4-pin DIN socket on the rear) going into the S-VHS input on your DVD player. You will need an S-VHS cord. Very cheap at Radio Shack or on Ebay. This gives the best quality. Our you can use the more familiar RCA composite video output (yellow socket) from the Elmo into the composite or auxiliary input on the DVD recorder.Be sure you have selected the proper input on your DVD recorder. Use a TV set as a monitor so you can see what you are recording. When I convert slides to DVD, I do a test run through the carousel to be sure the slides are all facing the right way, not upside down or backward.I set my Elmo timer on 5 seconds and let the carousel advance automatically. You may want to zoom in or color correct as you convert. In that case, pause your DVD recorder between slides, make your adjustments, then resume recording. This is called assembly editing. It works very smoothly and you get a better show,

How do I set up my Elmo to a data projector & a laptop? Specifically, Where do I put the RGB cords - what get's hooked up to what? Thanks!

I am going to bet you got a manual with the TT-02rx that explains the connectivity. If not, you can go to www.elmousa.com and download the manual from the TT-02rx page. Look on page 30.

TT-02rx can be connected in a couple of ways:

1. Directly to Projector - connect a standard VGA cable from the RGB output on the TT-02rx to a RGB (VGA) input on your projector. This will allow you to directly display anything you put under the Elmo camera.
2. USB to laptop, VGA from laptop to your projector. You can connect a standard USB cable from the Elmo to an open USB port on your laptop. From the laptop, you will need to connect VGA cable from output jack to projector input. To view images from the Elmo, you need to have installed the Imagemate software on your laptop first. Elmo can only be viewed thru the software interface.
3. The last option is run VGA from your laptop to VGA input on the Elmo. Then run VGA from Elmo to your projector. This offers the greatest amount of versatility as you can switch between the image on your computer screen and the image on the doc camera. Adding the USB cable as described in 2 above will also allow you to use the digital features such as image capture, reveal, spotlight, etc.

What size tray doe the Elmo TRV-35H use? What mfg is comparable?

It uses a standard 80 slide Kodak Carousel or comparable tray. Transvue works the best. Sometimes I can coax the Elmo to use a 140 slide tray, but the slides sometimes jam.

Projector takes 30-40 min to recognize signal from elmo 110xg

the resolution might not match from presenter to projector. are you using rgb, composite or s-video? the signal might not match. there might be an auto adjust on the projector to read and match the elmo's resolution. if not, the elmo may have an issue sending a powerful enough signal to the projector, and need a new main board.

Questions regarding the elmo trv-35h projector.

Wow! What a job. The solution depends non your patience, technical skill, and the amount of time you have. You can use a telecine transfer box or, what I do, projeect onto a white card and video tape from the image on that card. A white card works as well or not better than a transfer box, because there are no cheap mirrors to distort the image. Here are some techniques: Use a variable speed projector, set to 18 frames per second (fps) to reduce flicker. Project onto a dull white card from about 3 feet away. Set your camcorder up behind the projector on a tripod. Use MANUAL FOCUS. Set the shutter speed to 1/60 MANUALLY. Set the white balance MANUALLY to artificial light. Using the automatic features on a camcorder will give you an unstable picture as the camera tries to adjust. You can capture directly to DVD or VHS tape, or better yet, directly into your computer. If your camcorder has an S-VHS output ( a round 4-pin plug)  and your VCR or DVD recorder has an S-VHS input, use S-VHS for better color. Leave the room lights on while capturing. Zoom up on your image, set your white balance on the camcorder and begin the transfer. I do not use a regular movie screen because it is beaded and gives you an image broken into little dots. Experiment until you get the best results. Then write down all the settings and use that as your guide for future transfers. If you need to edit, you can edit on your PC using I-Movie or a similar program, or use assembly editing from one deck to another - VCR to DVD-R or VCR-VCR. Use the pause and record button to skip over parts you want to delete. If you use your computer you can add titles and music. You can also add music using your VCR or DVD recorder if you have the patience.
