Question about Tomtom GO 720 GPS Receiver

1 Answer

Navigation screen switches to menu screen w/out touching it

My GO 720 randomly swithces from the main navigation screen, to the menu screen while I'm in the middle of a journey. Sometimes this happens repeatedly, and I have to keep tapping the 'Done' key in the bottom right to switch back to the navigation screen. Very dangerous & annoying when you're trying to drive. Any solutions?

    I don't want to switch off any icons....I don't think you understand what my problem is. The TomTom is automatically switching to the Main Menu screen w/out my touching it during navigation.

    Today is Tuesday, May 26,2009. Yesterday, I was navigating through Groton,Mass.
    when my screen kept changing from navigation to Menu-multiple times!
    I agree this is very dangerous and aggravating. Earlier that day, I had just completed a software upgrade. My Go720 had been working fine up till that point.

My Guide 3000 GPS System

it's the same menu but the pna thinks the sd isn't in, so it hides those buttons. u should get to sd card to your computer and look at addons.txt. that contains information about the menus, and if that looks alright(
Games = "icons/games.bmp", "", 0
Navigate = "", "\\Flash Disk\\myguide\\myguide.exe"), then u should go to windows explorer. when it boots, after u hear the noise, notice a black square appearing in the left corner, "click" and hold until u see the a menu close to that when u right click your computer's desktop(if it's windows). click new folder and keep touching the desktop for the next ten seconds, so the "main menu" won't appear. then enter the new folder and windows explorer will launch, click the address bar and erase what's there and type \ then press enter. it will go to my computer. go to flash disk (which is the internal rom) and click igo launch. that should launch the navigation software.

You can't turn the navigation back on with this method. You must once again highlight the waypoint you want to navigate to in your Fine>Waypoints screen and then press the "Go to" highlighted button on the screen.
