To acess the filter you need to remove the bottom panel(2 screws). Then the hose that goes to the drain pump must be removed. The filter is located up inside the hose, it can then be pulled out and cleaned. This is one of the more difficult ones. Look for a model that has a small round cover on the front lower panel. Most of those models just remove the cover and unscrew the plug. Many whirlpools, bosch, and others will have this easy acess feature.

I would add one more thing, many of the whirlpools will have the same type of panel to remove but the filter acess is very easy to clean out.

Remove paneling to work on the machine

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand you want to remove the paneling on your Frigidaire washer, model# GLTF2940F, to work on your machine. Typically, this is not a do it yourself action, as there are no step by step instructions on how to remove the paneling. I suggest either contacting the manufacturer or your local authorized technician for further assistance. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Maytag 2000 series error codes

I have a Maytag Maxima frontload washer that was getting these two error codes. I found in my case it was due to the tub not draining water as quickly expected. On my model there were two screws at the bottom of the front panel (one on each side towards the floor) Once these screws were removed and my husband tilted the washer up I was able to get my hand behind the panel and unscrew the filter cap that is located towards the middle at the bottom. It is a large plastic circle that you unscrew. With your hand remove any gunk or objects blocking the filter (usually filled with gunk) screw the filter cap back in, screw the front panel screws in and try to run another load. I have had to do this twice so far. You would think if the filter needs to be cleaned out every year or so they would make it more easily accessible.

Washed some rugs with rubber backing that tore up during the final spin cycle and now the water will not drain or spin

Clean the filter in the accordion hose just before the pump. It is clogged and or materials have reached the pump. You will get an error E 21

The tub does not turn in the rinse/spin cycle but the motor is running.

Hello Jwwood,

Your Frigidaire GLTF2940F washer is not moving when it is washing clothes. This is because the belt is broke you can locate the belt on RepairClinic.com. Before you order the belt you need to findout the length as there are many different lengths and styles. In order to get to the belt you need to remove the back of the unit. If it is broke as I beleive measure and post back to this thread or go to the following link find the proper size and order. LInk - http://www.repairclinic.com/Frigidaire-Washing-Machine-Belt-Parts

Frigidaire front load washer GLTF2940FS barely drains at all. Hose is clear of debris and properly positioned in house drain (6 to 8 inches). Is there a drain pump filter that is accessible from the back?...

Yes, there is a filter on your machine. If you look in from the back, on the bottom of the tub is a hose coming off. Remove the hose from the tub section and inside of it you will find the filter.

Wash starts, then stops postin E10 and now soap does not dispense

E10 code indicates there is no water supply. This can be confirmed by :
  1. Shut off the faucet to stop water supply to the washer.
  2. Disconnect and pulling the supply hose off the washer to confirm the E10Code
    • Opening the faucet and watch for running water

E10 also means that your cold water is coming in too slow, disconnect the cold water hose and check to see if the screen on your washing machine is clogged. If the screen is clean and the hose has good pressure then you will need to replace the water valve on your machine--- this is the piece that the hoses directly connect to.
