Question about Car Audio & Video
When connecting a mass storage device to my pioneer head unit, the device will power up but the deck can not see the device.
Pioneer head units (decks) have a function wherein u can opt for AUX -ON / OFF.Similarly USB -ON /OFF.Why is this function given,i dont know.
To choose AUX "ON" or USB "ON" put the power OFF from the SRC SWITCH,PRESS THE MULTICONTROL ROTARY KNOB for 1-2 seconds .the display will show AUX OFF or USB OFF.Select "ON"on pressing the multicontrol knob again.
Now connect your device via the AUX or USB jack and see
i hope your problem is solved.

The drive is possible formatted NTFS as opposed to FAT32/16 which is the only formatting the head unit can read. It is best to reformat using Partition Magic or such like as Windows will only format FAT32 up to 32GB. You will lose all data on the drive when you format it.
It could also be that the drive you have chosen draws too much power for the drive to properly spin up.
