Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines

Whirlpool AWG 384 Front Load Washer Water inlet is very very slow... Fails to dissolve all the washing powder in the loading drawer. Tap fully on at wall. I'm thinking a Solenoid but haven't looked at anything inside yet. Have done other work myself, like replacing the rubber on the door & a pump. Any ideas?

OK, I bought a new solenoid valve; problem fixed. Water now gushes in faster than it has for a few YEARS! Wash time now reduced by almost half. Thanks for suggestions.

Did you check the hose screens.  Alot of newer washing machines come cone shaped screens on the water inlet hoses.. check BOTH ends.

Water coming out of soap tray and running down the front of the machine

Your soap tray and/or inlet is probably blocked with undissolved powder. Remove the tray and clean it. Also clean the inlet tube from the tray into the washing machine with hot water.
I, personally don't like soap powder and use a liquid or tablets because washers nowadays tend to use cold water only so doesn't fully dissolve the powder. Also the outlet to drain gets blocked along with the underground pipe to the mains sewage.

Washing powder compartment fills up with water

It's probably just caked with powder or conditioner and needs cleaned. Your handbook gives instructions on how to remove the drawer. Alternatively the dispenser to drum inlet hose may be blocked and some hot water may clear that.

Can this machine heat its own water? It has a hot and cold water intake. also mashing machine is not taking the powder from the powder drawer. Can you help?

Yes, this washer does have a heating element.
Make sure there is a good water pressure at the inlet valve/s,
or the powder will not dispense.
Make sure there is no blockage or obstruction in the drawer, \also make sure you have the powader in the correct compartment.
Hope this helps.

Using powder 1/2 recommend amount. there is a continual build up of powder in the dispensing cavity behind drawer. how do I prevent this am having to clean with toothbrush daily

Hi

When you start a cycle, does the machine take a long time for it to fill up with water.

If so, you have a faulty inlet valve. There is a rubber diaphram inside the valve which tends to tear over time. When this happens the water just trickles in. Therefore the soap/powder is not dissolved into the tub thouroughly.

Some powders also dissolve less than others, and using the machine on hot water cycle helps to dissolve the soap faster.

Ash

Use lots of very warm water from a kettle or jug and dislodge it gently with a spoon or fork.

Soap powder remains in the soap compartment

Depending on which compartment the powder is remaining in, it could be low water pressure causing the problem.
If it is taking some down, but not all the powder, then try putting the powder towards the front of the compartment.
If all else fails then I suggest you get one of these dispenser balls that you put straight in the drum with the washing.
Plz rate this solution.
thanks.

Water is leaking out of the washing powder drawer

the spray holes in the soap manifold are partially blocked and spraying at an angle. try to reduce the water flow pressure at the feed tap and clean the water holes in the soap tray manifold (above the tray).

Leaking from the dispenser

Try to pull out your dispenser drawer gently to clean out thoroughy. If you cant succeed, use a tooth brush, see that the brush does not fall in. Probably you have dried powder blocking the passage, nothing else.
