hi there, yes sometimes cut or wounded power cord actually result to no power at all. But if it still good try to trace down busted fuse. if fuse also good well it could be a defective power supply, defective power mosfet, or bulgy/leaky capacitors. if this is th e problem now, its better to let a service technician to be of assistant. well good day, hope it helps. TO: rdh041: I don't have the solution to you problem, but we have the exact same problem with our Sharp AQUOS 20" LC tv. Different model than yours, but same age and same perplexing issue. Several channels suddenly have no sound. If you've found a solution, would you please post it? I'll do the same. Thanks.
This can be caused by many different things. Check power supply fuses. If ok suspect inverter board which drives screen. Check for bulging capacitors and open transformers or just find replacement cost using numbers on board. That may fixya.
