You can blow the whole fan clean with compressed air or a compressor. It does not require removing the cover. The cover comes off with a twist and a pull, but does not stay on well afterwards, so I don't recommend removal. Farmerbear at FixYa.com

How do I clean the dust off a Stanley floor fan?

Unplug it. Carefully take off the grill and use a vacuum and/ or a damp cloth to clean the blades etc. Do not soak with water. Just a DAMP cloth on the blades only!!!!

Needs servicing and has a lot of components that have rust on them the cutting blade will need replacing too

You could try wiping all the metal components over with a clean soft cloth dipped into a little bit of good quality sewing machine oil to remove the surface dirt firstly.

Then brush out the interior that you can get to with a soft clean little brush sweeping the dirt/dust into your hand or onto a piece of flannel fabric to catch it all and get it away from the works of the machine.

Cutting blade, you will need to source from a supplier for your machine (you don't mention make or model in your info request), if it is a domestic serger, then changing the bottom blade is usually fairly easy but you may find that just taking it off and giving it a rub with a cloth will help. It may still cut okay, just depends on the sharpness of the blade.

Oil all the metal moving parts in the front cover of the machine, ie where the loopers slide/move/pivot as these points need lubrication. Your machine may have a threading and oiling diagram inside the front cover, some do. Failing that, you could try to locate a manual for it on www.diplococs.com .

How to remove the front panel holding the air louvers...

We have a FAC127P1A and if you gently pull the lower cover by holding each side where there is an indentation it will lower so you can get to the filter. Then either replace or wash the filter. We have another model, FAA087P7A1, and we were able to pull the cover down and lift up slightly and remove the cover and wash to remove the collection of dust, etc.

On this latter model there is a collection of dust, etc. in the area where the cooling is blown into the room that I would like to know how to remove for cleaning. I feel it is unhealthy the way it is now and would like to clean it before removing for the season. I know I could use q-tips or a small piece of cloth to clean but that is pain staking.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Where the two doors meet it is hot why?

Pull the refrig out and remove the rear panel . Check the fan there to see if it is working and the blade is not obstructed . If not working , and the blade is not obstructed , replace the fan motor . Also make sure the coils in front behind the kick plate are clean of dust , lint , etc . The cooling fan not working will cause the center door strip to get very hot .

Pull the refrig out , and remove the bottom panel covering the compressor , and make sure the fan , cooling the compressor , is working . The blade could have an obstruction . Middle column between doors is very hot

You need to pull the refrig out and remove the back panel , covering the compressor and fan . If the fan is not running , check for something caught in the fan blade . If nothing is found then replace the fan motor . Also make sure the coils at the bottom in front , are clean of dust , lint , pet hair , etc .
The fan , helps keep the compressor and the coils cool , including the ones behind the middle column .

I am trying to get the blade off my ryobi 4046c chainsaw so I can replace the chain. I have the two largr bolts off but not sure what else is keeping the clutch cover on.

Shouldn't be anything else. The bar might just be stuck a little through buildup of dust and chips etc. try riggling the back back and forward to see if it will free it. The cover should be removed and the internal areas cleaned after each use for maximum life.

Lasko 3520 20-Inch Cyclone fan - disassemble fan for cleaning?

How do I clean my Cyclone or Air Companion™?
Lay the fan face up on a flat surface. The front grill should be facing you. Remove the screws from the rear grill. Place a flat-head screwdriver into the gap between the front and rear grills. Pull the front grill towards you, exposing the fan blade. Do not remove the knobs on either side. Then, wipe the blade with a soft, damp cloth. Use a mild detergent if necessary. Be sure not to touch the motor. Click here to download product instruction sheet.

Motor running a lot

9360gabbs,  The significant thing that you list is... it is louder than usual.  You indicate that you have cleaned the coils under refrigerator.  Try and roll the refrigerator out from its normal location so you can get behind it.  Remove the cardboard or metal cover across the bottom area of the refrigerator.  Check and see that the fan next to the compressor is running and that the blades are clean from dust, etc. Sometimes the condenser fan dies and must be replaced sometimes the blades are covered in dust, etc and causes a decreased volume of air to be moved by the fan.  Make sure the entire area is clean from dust, etc.  Be sure to replace the rear cover that was removed.  Very important!  Hopes this helps you!
