I have fixed many types of cell phone and computers and the process is fairly similar. Does the button still feel as if it would function properly when you click it, yet nothing happens on the screen? Or does the button itself not feel like it is clicking down correctly? If you can feel a difference, it is most likely repairable by replacing the button itself or the metal contact surface on the board which the button touches. If you cannot feel a difference, it is possible that there is a short somewhere or that some kind of liquid managed to make its way inside your PSP. This is often only repairable by replacing whatever section of board (if not the whole motherboard) was damaged. Good luck!

When i press the home button oy psp, i cant use the directional bons to click yes so that i may quit the game i'm playing. and sometimes the "o" button seems to be pressed while i'm...

The problem, as you describe, is exactly that! One of your buttons is stuck down in the pressed position. If you press Home and the screen comes up asking you if you want to quit and a button is already pressed down, you will not be able to press X to confirm yes or no.

You didn't specify which PSP you have, 1001, 2001, or 3001, but the following website sells the part you need to fix this issue. They also perform repairs if you're not comfortable doing it yourself. It's a pretty cheap and straightforward part to replace:

Psp power indicater lights up green but does no turn on.

Hi.
It's probably bricked (dead). We need to know what's your last activity before it bricked. Mostly, bricked PSP is due to interruption during firmware update. Or when you install a CFW (Customized Firmware) by using ChickHen.
If your PSP is the slim type, you need to know what type of Motherboard it has. You will be lucky if you don't have a PSP with TA088v3 MoBo. Since you can no longer turn on your PSP, you will have no chance knowing the MoBo. But this procedure below is worth the try;
1.) Turn off your PSP by pressing the power button at least 10 seconds and green light is gone. 2.) While turned off, do one of the following until you boot into Recovery Mode;
a.) press the "R" button and hold it while pressing the power button. b.) press both "L" and "R" button and hold it while pressing the power button.
3.) If you are successful booting your PSP into recovery mode, google on how to recover your flash0 file...

My home button in my psp doesn't work

If you know how to remove the front housing of your PSP then we can surely identify why your HOME button is not working coz its either the FLEX or just the BUTTON itself, so we just need to verify which one is not working.

You can click HERE to follow the Steps on how to remove the Front housing of you PSP.
1. When your done removing the housing then remove the button and press the FLEX that corresponds with your HOME button, if it works then the BUTTON is the problem if not then its the FLEX

NOTE: By removing the housing of your PSP void you warranty. So if your not sure on what your doing ask assistance from Sony.

But basically its just a FLEX or the BUTTON.

Your feedback is greatly appreacited. Thank you for using FIXYA.

How can i downgrade my ver 6.10 software psp????

Hello there

Download MPH Downgrader and Firmware version you want(e.g 1.50) to the Windows-based computer. Connect the PSP Slim to the computer's USB port using the USB connector. Transfer the two programs to the main folder of the PSP Slim. Disconnect the PSP Slim from the computer's USB hub when the transfer is complete.

Turn on the PSP Slim. Go to the Settings/USB Connection in the Home menu and select the EBOOT.PBP file in the PSP\GAME\UPDATE update folder. Extract the MPH Downgrader zip file to the root folder of the PSP. Click OK using the X button if you are prompted that this will replace some files.

Go to Photo/Memory Stick in the Home menu. Wait as the screen goes black and numbers appear. Wait two minutes and then press and hold the power switch until the PSP Slim turns off. Release the power switch.

Wait as the PSP Slim turns on and reboots. Go to Game/Memory Stick in the Home menu and select PSPS Update version 1.50. Press the X button to start the update.

Wait as the update finishes and presents an error message. Press the O button to restart the PSP.

My psp keep going to home by itself.

When this happens, it's because the home button on the inside is jammed. Usually it's because it's dirty or sticky and sticks down [or presses itself]. You can try opening it and cleaning under the home button. If that doesn't work, you may need to replace the home/volume/start/select circuit ribbon cable. If you're not comfortable opening it, check the following company -- they would repair something like this for $29

You can go online with the PSP system and browse the Internet. To start browsing the Internet
  1. Check your PSP system set up:
    • Infrastructure Mode
Make sure your PSP system is set up for Infrastructure mode.
See Setting up Infrastructure mode for details.

    • Internet Connection
Make sure you have an internet connection and your PSP is within range of the wireless access point (or hotspot).
PSP®online connectivity requires internet service and network devices, suchas a DSL or cable modem and a wireless router - for example, a Wi-Fihotspot at a café or a wireless local area network (WLAN) in your home.

    • System Software
Make sure you've got the latest System Software.
Requires PSP system software version of 2.0 or higher. Visit PSP System Software Update to download and install the most recent version.

    • WLAN switch
Make sure the WLAN switch on the left side of the PSP system is turned on so that the PSP system can connect to the internet.

  2. In the XMB™ home menu select icn_network.gif (Network) > icn_www.gif (Internet Browser) and press the icn_btnx_color.gif button.

  3. Use the up and down buttons to select the address bar and then press the icn_btnx_color.gif button to display the on-screen keyboard.

  4. Enter the address for the web page you want to display, select Enter and then press the icn_btnx_color.gif button.
For more information, see Using the On-screen Keyboard.

  5. Select a connection and press the icn_btnx_color.gif button.

  6. The web page is displayed.

  7. To hide the on-screen menu, press the icn_btntriangle_color.gif button.

To close the Internet connection:
  1. With a web page on the screen, press the icn_btncircle_color.gif button.

  2. Select Yes and press the icn_btnx_color.gif button.

  3. The internet browser will close.

If you have issues connecting to the Internet, you may wish to troubleshoot your Infrastructure mode connection.

My R button is my hold button

Acutally is not like R=hold, the fact is, your R button is more likely to be semi-automatic or fully automatic now. Even on a fully working psp, when you press select or home button while you holding the L button or R button, the same thing will appear as your own psp.

Let you know a temporary solution, hold the R or L button or both firmly for a minute, your psp might come back to normal for a few seconds or something.

Look for some professional repair service to get your L or R repaired.

Let me know if this works.
