Good day,
First off, if the machine is under 5 years of age, the sealed system is under factory warranty.
If not,
Most appliance repair companies recharge if needed. But in fact, if it is low, then the leak will have to be repaired first, otherwise it will simply leak back out leaving you back to where you started.

My advice to you, is don't pre-judge the problem. Call a quality service company in your area and have them diagnose your problem. Leaks on refrigerators are rare. The machine is far more complex than that. You want a diagnosis and a guarantee it will perform properly when fixed.

Hi,
Look for "refrgeration repair" in you phone book...

many appliance stores will have a repair guy...

Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.

If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

I have a kelvernator fridge/ freezer and woke up this morning to find the freezer part still working but not the fridge part, why do u think this is ?

Hello,

The most common cause of that is a malfunction of the automatic defrost system. Do you see a bunch of frost on back wall of freezer? if yes it's not defrosting or perhaps the fan in the freezer that circulates air into fresh food compartment has failed,no frost build up if it's the fan, do you hear the fan?

Hi at the back of my fridge freezer i think the compressor at the bottom is very hot, also the small pipes at the back is not heating as much as the compressor, actually anything but hot but not cold...

It possibly needs re gassing. Call a refridgeration expert in to look at it for you, there is nothing you can do without the gas bottles and evacuator.
Hope that helps.

Freezer working, fridge not working .hotpoint

Hello Sir, I think we need some more info about what section of the Fridge is not working. Let me assume that the Problem is that the Fridge is not cooling ( as you raised that point that the Freezer is working. If that is the problem, then there are 2 things that can be Faulty:-------
  • The compressor is bad or not working. In this case you need a new compressor or repair if the fault is repairable.
  • The Thermostat is bad or not working. In this case, call a Technician of the associated brand. They will repair or replace as needed.
Another thing, if the Fridge is fully not working, then the fault is in the capacitors or the Main Control Board. Kindly call a technician for the steps needed to rectify the issue.
Thank you Sir, Have a nice day.

Amana SBD 522VEBONY - fridge freezer is not staying cold -

If your freezer works after regassing...and after sometime the problem occurs again. It seems to me that there is leak on the pipes in which where the gas runs, that is why it runs for sometime after regassing, after some time the gas that was loaded during regassing leaked through the atmosphere and the problem occurs again. It would be better if you replace it with a new fridge.
Hope this idea helps.
