Question about Epson Stylus C62 InkJet Printer

ALTERNATING GREEN RED LIGHT EPSON C62

The printer was all right for years I switch it on and red and green light alternates computer states a part or parts have come to the end of there service life contact a technition. can you help me please.sincerely Ken Jackson.

Hi,

The message is indicative that the printer has reached a point where it is no longer expected to give print outs with the expected quality. If for some reason you would still want to retain usage and not purchase a replacement, there is a software utility intended just for this purpose. The utility would revert/reset all readings back to factory defaults "fooling" the printer that it is brand new. Although for your particular model, the ink counters would not be reset but all other parameters would be. If this works then pls don't expect everything to be as before but merely functional.

The software is the SSC Service Utility and may be found here with explanation.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Try first disconnecting power cable for tem minutes and see if it reset

    If the error does not reset with power disconnect , it means you have a major general failure.
    Open all printer doors and check for small pieces of paper or small foreign objects, like screws, little coin etc inside the printer. Turn also printer upside down to see if there is something inside.
    Connect printer back.
    Remove the cartridge and put them back in place. Eventually try a different cartridge if you have one, I suggest not buying new cartridges with printer in this state, it may be a waste of money that can be spent on a new printer.
    If the above does not clear the error , then there is an hardware failure, and the choice will be calling a technician or buying a new printer.
    Common hardware faults on your printer are deceptive board, deceptive printer head, mechanic fault. All of them require intervention from a qualified repairman and can require additional parts (eg printer head).

Alternate red light blinking of ink and paper botton

2. In Configuration tab of the SSC window, select your installed Epson printer and Printer Model
3. Plug-in the printer to your PC and turn the Power On.
4. In your tray, right-click SSC Service Utility, go to Protection Counter, then click Reset Protection Counter.
5. A dialog box will appear, just click Yes.
6. Right-click SSC again in your tray, go to Extra, click Soft Reset. Then say Goodbye to the annoying alternating red & green lights.

Resume light coming on but printer won't work


Normal 0 Probably has corrupt driver.
Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.

If your printer documentation includes any troubleshooting information, perform those troubleshooting steps.
If possible, perform a self-test on the printer. These "self-diagnostic" tools can often resolve or diagnose basic issues with your hardware.
also:
-click start, point to setting and then click on printers
- right click on the printer that you want to check and then properties
- verify that all of your printer properties are configures as recommented by your printer manufacturer. to do so, view the documentation included with you printer
-if needed go to control panel and then to printers/cameras and try to set up your printer through there, you may need to update drivers.
