Coby is one of the worst manufacturers of consumer electronics available. I very much suggest you return the unit for a full refund and buy any other brand. I recommend the second cheapest instead. farmerbear at FixYa.com

How does a wind turbine work?

A Wind turbine operates on a simple principle .The energy in the wind turns 2 or 3 propellor like blades around a rotor .The rotor is connected to the main shaft which spins a generator to create electricity. Wind turbines are mounted on a tower to capture the most wind energy.

Is this tube handle assembly safe? Oreck XL 2600

If the wire itself is insulated, you should be okay. If you need to continue to use the device, try insulating it further with electrician's rubber tape, but the ideal solution is to discontinue use -any professional will recommend you do this.

Repair retractable cord

Depending on which model of Electrolux you have and how far out you have pulled out the cord (most of the Electrolux canisters have a yellow tape around the machine end of the cord to alert you not to pull it out any further), you might have to take it apart to fix it. However, the first thing that I would try would be to stand it on the end (the hose end at the top), and pull short jerks on the cord to see if it will correct itself and retract. If that does not fix it, I would stick a screwdriver in the hole where the cord comes out of the machine and attempt to wind the cord reel back up which will slowly wind the cord back up on the cordwinder. This usually cause the cord to wind back up. If that does not work, then the only option is to take the machine apart to fix it.

Mini shop vac

There is a hidden thermo fuse in the tape on one of the field windings. If it overheats that fuse will blow and the motor won't run until replaced.

Where is the circuit breaker on a wet/dry shop vac

There is a thermo fuse in the field winding under the tape. When it overheated the fuse went bad.

I have a tear in the top of my hose. Right by the handle is there a way to shorten the hose a few inches at the top to repair the hole?

You'd be better off using duct tape on it. Ensure the wiring is intact first, then wrap a couple wraps of electrical tape around the hose, then 2-3 of duct tape. May not be pretty, but safer than cutting the hose and wiring just right to get everything safely connected.

My puppy chewed the cord to my dyson, is it easy to fix?

Very easy, if you don't care how pretty it is. All you need is a sharp knife and some electrical tape. Use the knife on each end of the cord to expose 1/2" of copper wiring, twist them together, cover each wire separately with tape, then wrap several turns of tape around the whole thing.

I put 3 turns of electrical tape around the area of the beater bar that meets the vacuum belt. This solved the problem short of replacing the beater bar.

Loss of suction when using upright. Suction remains for samll tools

I checked all the pipes and seals. There is a flexible pipe which you can see underneath that connects the front rotating brush assembly to the vacuum system. This pipe can crack and loss of suction occurs when using it upright. The pipe can be repaired temporarily with strong fabric sticky backed tape (e.g. carpet seal tape). A new pipe can be fitted with a few tools.
