Hi can anybody tell me which steering columns are compatible with a 2cv but have a steering joint so suitable for a mehari . Thanks neil

Contact a local auto salvage yard, they have books and software that shows this type of part cross over information. In general the steering columns used by a manufacturer are used in all of the models with differences in the switches and steering wheels mostly.

Tv won't turn on it keeps clicking and the red light flashes on and off button but never turns to blue indicating it is on

Hi rschutt01,

This kind of symptoms is an indication of out-of-regulation condition on the power supply board(this is where the power cord's directly connected). It is caused by leaky/dried electrolytic capacitor. It will dropped the normal working voltage of the power supply and disable the unit.

Leaky electrolytic capacitor has a physical indication of fault like bulged/dome at the top and can be easily identify through visual inspection. If your unit is not under warranty period, take off the rear cover and inspect the capacitors on the output of the power supply board. Once found replaced it with same capacitance and working voltage that is printed on its body itself. Upgrade to higher working voltage is another option. Watch the video below for more info regarding electrolytic capacitors.

Dried electrolytic capacitor has no physical indication of fault. You must have a capacitor checker to determine its condition and pinpoint the faulty one. If not available, you may replace all electrolytic capacitor on the output of the power supply, it will not cost you much because this is one of the cheapest part on this board. Another option is to replace the entire power supply board for your convenient, it will not required any soldering. Click this LINK for the replacement. I would advice you to double check the actual part no. of your board that is printed on the white sticker on the board itself to ensure you will get the right replacement upon purchasing.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!

Hi Masoud,

Sorry for the late reply, I'm offline upon purchasing my service.

The symptoms you've described is an indication of out-of-regulation condition on the power supply board. This is caused by faulty (leaky/dried) electrolytic capacitor on that board. It will dropped the normal voltage and will disable the unit resulting to that kind of symptoms.
Leaky electrolytic capacitor has a physical indication of fault like bulged/dome at the top and can be easily identify through visual inspection. If your unit is not under warranty period (if so avail it because the manufacturer will fix it for free), take off the rear cover and then inspect the power supply board (this is where the power cord's directly connected) for leaky capacitor. See sample picture and video below of leaky electrolytic capacitor.

If you found them on the power supply board, replaced it with same capacitance and working voltage that is printed on its body itself. You may buy it at digikey.com, partstore.com, radioshack.com, ebay.com or to your nearest electronics supply. Please watch the video below for more info regarding electrolytic capacitor.

It wont turn on. power light blinks red twice

Hi Smith,

2 flashes of the LED light is an error code for "Low DC voltage". The output voltage of the power supply is not normal(dropped) and the caused of this fault is a leaky/dried filter electrolytic capacitor on that section.

Leaky electrolytic capacitor has a physical indication of fault like bulged/dome at the top and can be easily identify through visual inspection. See sample picture below.

If you're handy with electronics and know how to solder and desolder parts on the board, check the power supply for obvious leaky capacitor. If you've found them, replaced it with same capacitance and working voltage that is printed on its body itself. Watch the video below for more info regarding electrolytic capacitor.

Dried electrolytic capacitor has no physical indication of fault, you must have a capacitor checker/tester to determine its condition or you may replaced all electrolytic capacitor in the output of the power supply, it will not caused you much because this is one of the cheapest part on that board(cost only $4 at the most).

Hope I helped you.

Tv turns on but you have to push the button on the tv ten times to get it to turn on.

Hi,

This kind of symptoms is an indication of out-of-regulation in the power supply section. This is caused by leaky/dried electrolytic capacitor. In the first stage of the symptoms, warm-up will make itself stable but it will get worst, time will come that the unit will not power up at all.

Leaky electrolytic capacitor has a physical indication of fault like bulged/dome at the top and can be easily identify by visual inspection. See sample picture below.

If your unit is not under warranty period, open the back cover and inspect the electrolytic capacitor in the power supply section. If you found a leaky one replaced it with same capacitance and working voltage that is printed on its body itself. Watch the video below for more info regarding electrolytic capacitor.

Hello.

Your power supply board is dead, you know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

I hope this will solve the problem.....

Bose lifestyle 5. Display is erratic when playing cd or radio.

Change capacitor C19 (33uF 63v) next to the dispaly. This capacitor goes leaky over time, and causes ripple on the display which makes it dim or even dissapear completley. Also worth doing all the capacitors near to C19 while your there just in case.

changing C19 worked for me. Some people even up rate the capacitor to 100v, but 63v id the manufacturers reccomended.

The screen comes on for 3 seconds and goes off

This is most likely a backlight related problem. If the power light stays on after the screen goes off, then it is most likely one of two problems:

1) Something is wrong with your power/inverter board. Most likely you will need to replace bulging or bad capacitors on the power board. They will like have voltages between 16-25V and capacitances of 470-1000uF. You will need to disassemble the monitor, remove its power board, and inspect it. If you notice bad capacitors, you will need to desolder them from the board and solder on new compatible ones. This should solve the problem.

OR

2) If replacing the capacitors doesn't solve the problem, the problem may be with your backlights themselves. If you are able to test them, that would be best. Replacing them is a pain as you will have to disassemble the LCD panel itself to get them out. You will then have to replace them with compatible backlights of the same size, which you can salvage from similarly sized broken monitors.

Keep in mind that the suggested actions above are for individuals with some experiences in soldering and repairing circuit boards or LCDs. Also be sure to wear anti-static gloves or wristband and keep the monitor unplugged when performing the above stated actions.
