Question about Gemmy Toys

Open Question

I lost the instructions for the Gemmy halloween witch with cauldron and I don't know how to make her "grow". I found a button at the back side on the base, and she lifts up, but I can't get her to stay up? Please help!

SOURCE: I purchased a Gemmy witch

Ensure that you add the water BEFORE you plug it in and turn it on. Also make sure you top off the water to cover the sensor under the grating.

Gemmy says there is a safety built in to disable the cauldron effects if there is insufficient water when the unit is powered up.

If you are already doing this, and the cauldron is not lighting/fogging, you have one of the numerous ones that don't work properly.

I tried this on mine and mine does not light or fog. The witch is very nice; the cauldron is a major disappointment.

Happy Halloween

Halloween, celebrated each year on October 31, is a mix of ancient Celtic practices, Catholic and Roman religious rituals and European folk traditions that blended together over time to create the holiday we know today. Straddling the line between fall and winter, plenty and paucity and life and death, Halloween is a time of celebration and superstition. Halloween has long been thought of as a day when the dead can return to the earth, and ancient Celts would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off these roaming ghosts. The Celtic holiday of Samhain, the Catholic Hallowmas period of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day and the Roman festival of Feralia all influenced the modern holiday of Halloween. In the 19th century, Halloween began to lose its religious connotation, becoming a more secular community-based children's holiday. Although the superstitions and beliefs surrounding Halloween may have evolved over the years, as the days grow shorter and the nights get colder, people can still look forward to parades, costumes and sweet treats to usher in the winter season.

The name "Halloween" is shortened from All Hallows' Eve as it is the eve of "All Hallows' Day", which is now known as All Saints' Day. Although All Saints's Day now occurs one day after Halloween, the Celts started every day at sunset of the night before. Hence Samhain became "the evening of All Hallows".

Traditional activities for Halloween include costume parties, carving pumpkins to make Jack-o-lanterns (carved pumpkin lit by a candle inside), trick-or-treating, or reading scary stories. Irish immigrants carried versions of these tradition to North America in the nineteenth century.
Traditional characters of Halloween include ghosts, witches, vampires, bats, black cats, goblins, skeletons, pumpkin-man, scarecrow and fictional figures such as Dracula. Halloween gifts often include one of these characters for the festivities.

The Halloween gift basket is a great gift for your favorite trick-or-treater. Most Halloween gift baskets have a Jack-O-Lantern pail since Jack-O-Lantern is the symbol of Halloween. One popular gift basket includes popcorn, candy corn (popular Halloween candy), other Halloween candies, a plush black cat dressed as a witch, a pumpkin carving kit for recipients to make Jack-O-Lantern, and a pumpkin flash light for safety during trick-or-treating. This gift is truly a must have for Halloween!

At last let's sing the song of "This is halloween".

DVD ripper for Mac

I first tried to remove the mister but the way it is built make it impossible to take it apart without destroying the cauldron. So what I did was purchase another fogger for 20 bucks. [Found it on the web] It fits snuggly between the outside wall and the original mister. The wire went up her dress and out her hand that holds the stick. I used masking tape and taped the wire to her stick. then I painted so it was not as noticeable. I put the screen in the cauldron and you can't tell the there is a replacement. The only thing that is different is Now the mist has all different colors instead of just red. It is a easy solution

I have a 5' Singing Dancing Skeleton by Gemmy Industries purchased at a WalMart...Lost instructions to unlock it into standing (non-storage) posistion.

Remove the locks from the bottom. They look like the base for one of those solar lights you put in your yard. Once they are removed, push down on both shoulders at the same time and it will spring up! Hood luck and Happy Halloween!
