Question about Brother ML-300 Typewriter

1 Answer

I fed a paper into the typewriter and was typing and using the machine as normal, and suddenly a sound like a metal part of the typewriter becoming dislodged and falling occurred. I tried looking at the particular part - it appears that the metal plate laying just against the roller where the paper is fed onto has become unattached and now is somewhat hanging loosely against the roller and prohibiting me from feeding paper into the typewriter.

IBM Wheelwriter 6 Typewriter - while typing, characters just quit printing on paper. Checked ribbon, machine etc. Everything checked out?? What could be the problem.

It is probably the print solenoid that has a broken cap. I have seen a few advertisers that sell the repair kit with instructions. It is fairly simple to repair.

While typing there was a metalic "clunk. The paper would no longer remain around the bar.

There is a strong spring tha holds the lower rolls on the paper it may have broken but more likely the plastic point where it hooks broke off.

On my wheelwriter 6, when i type everything goes through the motion but it want type any letter on the paper. I change the ribbon and install fresh batteries?

There is a part on the print hammer solenoid that falls apart over time. It is a small whiteish cap that
just falls apart so the machine sounds and looks like it is working but there is nothing being transfered to the paper. I have ordered this part from Coleman manufacturing.

Hi, I am having a problem with my Model GX6750 typewriter. While I was typing it started typing on its own. It typed a line and a half then I shut it off. When I turned it back on it is not typing the...

Sounds like the machine may have a staple or paper clip on the electronic circuit board. Turn OFF and UNPLUG the machine. The main circuit board is located under the keyboard, so tilt the machine towards the rear (on its back) and listen for anything loose in the machine. Look inside and locate the foreing object. If necessary, tun the machine upside down and shake up and down. Do not turn the machine back on until you have removed the foreign object.

Remove a label stuck to the metal floater behind the pleten myself

Take a quarter piece of typing paper. Soak it in paint thinner. Roll this down where the label is stuck. The paint thinner will dissolve the adhesive on the label but will not harm anything in the typewriter.
