I dont know step by step but i do know that theres a web site that has the themes (google it) and you have to mess with the firmware. you can also go to rockbox.com and download a different software on your ipod. that does come with themes that you can change and more stuff.

Itunes wont let me put a movie on m ipod

Not all iTunes video can be transferred to iPod, please make sure your video is compatible with iPod. If the video resolution or video bitrate beyond iPod limitation, even though they are mp4 video, you can't upload them to iPod. For example, some iTunes purchased movie are High definition movie, the resolution is too high to play on iPod, you can't sync it to your iPod. For more information about iPod compatible video, you can visit apple official website.

Or you may take a look at this step by step direction, it's about how to convert and put video to iPod, it works pretty well for me.

How to put a video on my 80 Gb ipod using mp3 rocket

You need a third party software to convert the video to the format which support by iPod.
Here I find a Video Conversion Software which could convert between all popular Video formats ( AVI, MKV, MP4, WMV, FLV, MPEG etc.) that support all popular portable media players (such as Zune/Zune HD, iPod/iPhone and PSP) and the latest iPod Nano 5G, iPod Touch 3, iPhone 3GS/OS 3.1.

Music videos cant put them in ipod

step1
Locate videos. There are four main places where you can find legal videos intended for iPod use. The iTunes store (where videos can be directly downloaded) and video podcasts are certainly the most popular, but digital copies from DVDs as well as personal digital videos can also be put on the device.
  • Step 2 Import your videos into iTunes. If you have downloaded the videos from iTunes or have downloaded a video podcast from the service, this step has been done for you (as well as step 3), and you can proceed to step 4. However, if you are trying to put digital copies, or personal videos on the iPod, put all of the videos in a central folder on the desktop. Go to iTunes and select the "Add file to iTunes" to import the contents of your folder to the iTunes program.
  • Step 3 Convert non-iTunes files. iPods only work with MPEG-4 videos, so if you are uploading videos of other formats, such as AVI or WMV, they will need to be converted with the iTunes program. Highlight the videos you need to convert and right-click to pull up a sub-menu. Select "convert" to begin the process. Alternately, you can drag the files into the iTunes conversion queue, which is on the right side of the program. You will see a notice when your files are finished converting.
  • Step 4 Sync your iPod. When your new video files are ready, simply plug your iPod Classic into a USB port and then drag the video files you wish to put on your device over the iPod icon. The icon will then change to "syncing" status. Wait a few minutes while the videos are transferred. Once the icon has changed back to normal, simply press the eject button and unplug your iPod.

  • i recomend the arcsoft media converter 3 for a starter converter it will work just fine for 15 days

I'm trying to put a DVD on my ipod

Your computer most likely can not read the files on your DVD so first you need to go online and pickup a converter for converting DVD files to video files. then move them to your ipod

I have a few video files that I would like to put over to my Ipod. They are in a format that I know from putting previous videos over, that words for the Ipod. For some reason these few videos won't sync...

Try to copying files using Windows Explorer instead of sync using Media Player but it will work with Windows only. If you are using other OS, do the same with appropriate program.
