My garmin will not pickup saterlite

Try taking the GPS inside the house and connect it by USB port to a desktop or laptop and go to Garmin's support page and download the newest updates.

A lot of time that will straighten out that "acquiring signal" issue

Hi we have the tomtom live it wont find satalights

O.k. To be able to find satellites, the GPS must have a clear view to the sky. The satellites are around the equator so be sure there are no buildings in between. Also don't try to start in a house or in dense woods. Give the GPS a few minutes, if it needs to start again. Be patient.

DISH Network(r) 311 Satellite System: we moved our tv and ever since we reconnected it w...

Hi myname is Mike Houston of DISH Network and I was going over your post and whenyou move the receiver you always want to make sure all connections are in thesame place. The SAT feed coming into the house will connect to the SatelliteIn, and your TV connects to the CH4 CH3 on the back of the receiver. I willsend a link that will help with these steps.

Samsung plasma stalling

Your TV is fine, the problem is with the signal from your satellite dish.

The signal from the satellite is digital, so when your receiver can't get a clear signal from the satellite, it shows the last good picture it had until the signal comes back.

Check to see if your dish is still properly aimed, with a clear view of the sky (no trees in the way)

Satellite internet-''G'' router-no signal less than 100feet away

The metal barn serves as a wireless interference. It reflects back the signal from your mom's house. What you can do to get a wireless signal if either buy a Wireless Access Point to extend the signal from your mom's house or just relocate the position of the satellite transmitter.

Can't find satellites

Hello Ray_of_Hope,

In order to get a "fix" on it's current location your GPS needs to download data from three or four GPS satellites. Typically, this should happen in about two minutes or less from the time you first power on the unit. This can take a little bit longer if its been a while since you used the GPS or if you have travelled a long way since you last turned the unit on. Your Garmin Nuvi 200W should be acquiring satellites and providing a location report pretty quickly after power up.

Once thing that can affect the performance is whether not not the GPS has a clear view of the sky. If you are operating indoors, in a car, or anywhere that has a lot of obstructions (in a city with tall buildings or a forested area with a lot of trees) these things can block your GPS's view of the sky and prevent it from receiving data from one or more satellites. This can cause the GPS to be unable to provide a lock on its current location or to take a very long time in locking on.

Best Regards,
"Go Ahead. Use Us."
