Question about Olevia LT32HVM 32 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

Setup I've moved and now trying to setup the Olevia 232-111 connected to a Phillips DVD. Unfortunately, I did not make a diagram of the connections I had previously. The inputs on the back of the set are not the same as those pictured in the CD manual that comes with the set. I have two cables: one with a red and white jack on each end and the other with a yellow jack on both ends. There is a red and white audio output connection on the back of the DVD to which I have connected one end of the red/white cable. There is also a yellow video output jack on the back of the DVD to which I have connected one end of the yellow video cable. On the back of the TV there is no yellow input jack - there are only two red/white jacks both labled L and R input. I've tried connecting the other end of the red/white cable to both of these and then connecting the other end of the yellow cable to one of the two remaining inputs - in fact I've tried every conceivable combination but I get no sound and the only picture i get is a label in one corner of the display that says "No Signal." Any ideas?

I went to 'S' video for that function and use the external audio inputs for L/R. This path is slightly superior for video but carries no audio signal.
Check to see if they both have it.

The yellow cable is normally a 'composite' video cable which carries video and sync info.
The red and white are pretty standard for audio with red=right and white=left.

No antenna port for Olevia TV How do I connect outside antenna to Olevia monitor

you will have to use a VCR, DVD player that has a built in tuner, or an HD converter box. The HD converter box will have an antenna connection for the outside antenna. But will also have RCA outputs to connect your TV to the converter

Problem with Phillips FA 443 Amplifier

I have a similar problem with my Kenwood Basic M1D , C2 setup. Move the input select switch through all of its selections a couple of times, this will clean the contacts and should give you a couple of years more life. Or get the Amp serviced there are some very good small Hi-Fi shops. Incidentally the earphone port is usually a signal taken before the amplifier but after the pre amp so is unaffected by the power amplifier. Unfortunately it could aslo be a failed channel in the amp. These can be repaired or replaced and will be cheaper than a new unit.

RE: Denon AVR 3300 - I cannot get the system setup menu to display on Phillips P50PFP5332D tv screen? All connected components work and sound great, but I cannot see Denon's Setup menu on tv to a

I understand, it's something I've misunderstood on my denon avr-790 as well when connected to a samsung 8000 series led tv.
The answer isn't in the receiver's settings (you can be on whatever source you want on the receiver end when toggling the menu). You need to toggle through the tv's sources to find the menu (usually found on hdmi 1). I've spent towards an hour recently troubleshooting only to find that it was the tv's source that wasn't set properly and I was trying to change the receiver's settings instead of the tv's source.
Hope that helps!

Find channels

You say you`ve plugged the outside aerial lead directly into the DVD recorder aerial input socket, you connected an aerial link lead from the aerial output socket on the DVD recorder and you`ve got a Scart lead from the TV output socket on the rear of the DVD recorder into the AV1 socket on the TV. I`m saying all this because in the past, I`ve had customers say this to me only to find when I call round that they`ve plugged the aerial into phono sockets instead of the earial input socket. The aerial lead will fit physically but not electrically. Have you got a good picture on your TV with the DVD recorder switched to standby?? If yes, Does it play a DVD perfectly through the TV?? If yes, then everything is connected up correctly, When you press the virgin menu button to your DVD, it should show setup/install?? When you do get to the free-view or channel setup/install menu, and you tell it to search for new channels, does it scan?? Does a bar or do the numbers rise and the % number rise as it finds new channels?? If they do and everything is connected and working as I described earlier but still no channels are found, Try unplugging from the mains and reboot your DVD recorder, then repeat the whole menu install procedure sequence again. Other than that, there`s nothing else you can do, Basically, you`ve got a faulty machine where it requires an engineers eye I`m afraid. Ian

HDMI out to Olevia 527 TV = Blue Screen

Hi beelzyboob.. try checking these.. since you are using the RCA (composite cables) and I assume you have them on the "DVD in" at the back, go to setup, go to input assignment and go to hdmi input. here, make sure dvd is set to" ----". Next, hit return and go down to component input and also check if dvd is set to "-----". With these settings, you should get video. This is because you are not using either an HDMI or component cable. hope this helps.. ^_^
