You can either remove the cover and remove it manually or take a paper clip and stick it in the middle of the tray door and pull it open. Then remove the disc, then slowly pull the door back as far back open as it will allow, then press the eject button and see if it re-aligns itself.

I just bought a brand new Toshiba Satellite P75-A7200. It won't play DVD's and keeps saying wrong area code...I live in Australia, bought the PC in Australia and am trying to play Australian DVD's but

hi, I think this may help. what you need to do first of all is change the default player for DVD's from Toshiba Video Player to Windows Media Player, cant remember off hand how to do that but should be in manual, but try this. go to windows control panel, select 'Default Programs' and click on it, then select 1st option 'Set Your Default Programs' a list of all programs will come up, look for Windows Media Player and click on it, then choose one of the options on the right. The top one sets as default, the bottom one allows you to set file types to open with the program. this should work as it is telling your system to launch that program for DVD's etc, If you cant find your control panel, simply click Start and type it in the little box that appears just above it.
hope this helps

You can purchase a universal remote much cheaper that will allow you to control the DVD player.

Something like that will work great and you can also use these remotes to control two other devices if you want.

Is the TV PAL or NTSC? The symptom you are experiencing is what would happen if you are trying to play back a NTSC signal on a PAL TV or vica versa. If you have a scart connection on theTV then use a scart lead to connect from the DVD player to the TV. Set the DVD player for RGB output which is independent of PAL & NTSC.

Cant get connected

Your DVD player should have came with a cable with 3 plugs on each side. Plug the matching colors into the jacks on the back of your DVD Player. Then if your TV has the same color jacks, plug the cables into the colored jacks.
