If paper is only getting grabbed by one side, then you likely have a paper jam somewhere in the roller on the other side.

My CanonPC940 won't grab paper and push it through to print-also makes a a loud "grinding" noise. How can I fix this?

Sounds like a tire may have slid off of a wheel. Yes they have wheels. Also paper soaks up water like a sponge always keep your paper in the wrapper it comes in and the top side of the paper is where the seam is. Make sure you put the paper in so that the top side is the side going through the machine. I do how ever believe you have a wheel or gear out of place.

The paper is grabbing from only one side. It is

Hello this some times works Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Won't grab paper.

Take a size 10 Envelope fold it so that it should become like a thin long strip........ Now Insert that Envelope on the left side corner of the Printer and move it from right to left and left to right as fast as u can for about 10 times.......... Now Insert the Ordinary Papers onto the Printer.........
Good Luck

The rollers grab the right side of the paper and then jams

the gears which r pulling the paper r slightly worn out or getting blocked by dust particles.
you look carefully where u install the paper for printing there is a black colour round rubber gear with white colour part like a tiny stick attached to it.just check if that part is broken.if yes you have to replace that part.

Paper does not feed - GRABS RIGHT SIDE

gears below the paper feeding tray are damaged or some dust particle have blocked the gears try to clean it by blowing the dust use normal greece (oily substance) between the gears so that they can move frequently to pull the paper, and if the gears are damaged you have to change the gears.

Paper pull only from the right side

take a look as it is grabbing the paper
1- either there is someting blocking the path or
2- the tires need to be changed, not grabbing the paper but instead it is slipping.
