Question about Health & Beauty

I have used my debit card in many past transactions and want to continue using the same debit card but for some reason; it is not allowing me to do this today? It tells me to try using another credit card and I do not want to do this. I have money available on this debit card and there should not be any problems on my end. Why is it not allowing me to use this card?

It is not for us to say so , but you need to contact your bankers who has issued the debit card where you have the account.Possible the card is blocked for a reason and you must contact the bank manager immediately for submitting details.

The best thing to do is to call your Bank. It happened to me once, because the amount was unusual, so for security reasons they wanted me to contact them to make sure the card wasn't stolen. COuld be another reason for you. They'll know.

How do I find out what was purchased with my debit card?

Which bank issued the debit card?
Have you setup to use that bank's online-banking service?
If so, login to their site, and "review transactions".

I want to put my new visa card on my account

You would be better off putting your bank card on.
A Visa card will cost you for every transaction where as a bank card will not its a direct debit from your Bank Account.

You should contact the Visa Card Bank and find out any costs of transactions first.
Have the credit card you want to add to your PayPal account readily available.
You can also add any debit card that has a Visa or Mastercard logo on it.

Log in to your PayPal account using your email address and password. This will bring you to the "My Account Overview" page.

Click the "Edit Profile" link, located next to your name and email address under the page title. This will bring you to the "Profile Summary" page.
Look at the three columns on the summary page and find the hyperlink that says "Credit/Debit Cards" in the "Financial Information" column.

Click on that link.
You will be brought to a page that shows you a summary of the credit and debit cards you have associated with your PayPal account.
Remove any credit or debit cards that you no longer wish to have attached to your account by clicking on the circle next to the description of the card and then hitting the remove button.
Find the "Add New Card" icon, located near your credit or debit card information. Click the button and fill in all the requested information, making sure that the billing information is correct.

If the billing information is different than that of the cards you already have on your PayPal account, be certain to use the "Enter New Address as Billing Address" button.
Hit the "Add Card" button.
You will be redirected to the "Credit/Debit Cards" page, at which time you can make the new card your primary source of funding or just leave it as a secondary card.

Cancel payments

Automated payments debited from your checking account or against your credit card can prove to be quite convenient.
Automatic debits can be payments for loans, life insurance premiums, cable bills, Internet service and many other transactions.
Sometimes you want these transactions stopped.
If you decide to open a new checking account the automatic debits should be discontinued from the old bank account.
The company responsible for the debits will need adequate notification to keep the debits from going through another month.

Review your bank account statement or credit card statement to see which automatic debits are going through.
You could have several automatic debit transactions deduction money from your bank account. Decide which ones you want to stop or cancel.
Locate the contact information for that particular merchant.
Call the merchant responsible for the automatic debit.
The toll-free customer service phone number should be on the merchant's statement.
Let the representative know you want the automatic debits stopped.
The representative will stop the automatic debits per your request.
Some companies need four or five days prior to the automatic debit.
Without adequate notice the automatic debit may occur one more time.
The following month you should not see the charge.

Send a letter to the merchant.
Sometimes it may be difficult to reach a merchant by phone; if this is the case, the website Credit Info Center recommends sending the merchant a certified letter with a return receipt.
It will take a little longer to get your charges stopped by mail.
Take a look at your bank statement.
Make sure the automatic debits have been cancelled.
If the charges continue, follow up with the merchant.
Ask for a confirmation letter confirming the automatic debits have been cancelled.

What is a prepaid card?

Prepaid cards are also called reloadable cards and are similar to credit and debit cards in their way of electronically accessing to one's money. They are used mainly by people who don't use banks for financial transactions, sometimes because of poor credit ratings. They can be used by anyone over 18, worldwide, it's safer than carrying cash and there is no risk of going into debt because the card will not allow any payment that exceeds the amount of money present in the card. It's like a safer and flatter wallet

Can i use debit and prepaid cards for online purchases?

Most debit and prepaid cards allow online purchases. However some cards may have certain limits. For example there might be limited amounts of money that can be payed or withdrawn each time; there might be limited amounts of transactions or withdrawals allowed each month or each day; or the use of the card may be limited to one country and its websites.

Your pinpad has lost its encryption. This usually happens because of a power surge. Or from unplugging the pinpad, and then plugging it back in when the power is still on to the terminal. The pinpad must be encrypted with a code specific to your processor. You will need to contact your debit processor to have the pinpad re-encrypted.

I went to purchase an item today and my Paypal account did not allow the transaction to go through. Why? Thanks You, Bill Ferm

First check the funding source when trying to make the purchase. Some transactions allow debit/credit card only and it maybe trying to take from a funding source which does not have the transaction value available on it.
Paypal do have account limits if you are not fully verified, to see if you have reached your sending limit, when you login to your account, at the top where it says your name - move across and you will see a link which says view limits. Click the link and check that sending limits have not been reached.
Finally if you were trying to pay with funds from your actual paypal account, make sure that the funds are also in the currency which your transaction is. As when it is funds direct from your account and no debit card involved, the currencies have to match for it to go through.
