Question about Citizen 8700 BL8000-54L Wrist Watch

Citizen wrist watch stops working

I have a citizen eco-drive wrist watch which was bought about 3 years ago. Unfortunately, it stopped working two days ago. I did leave it under my table lamp every evening to make sure it gets charged. I was told that this watch would keep running as long as it gets light everyday! Any idea on why it stoped working? Any help is highly appreciated.

Although my watch has never completely stopped, it does loose about 10 minutes every couple of days. It was sent for warranty several times due to problems with the movement and every time it was returned working. It is now off warranty. Needless to say I will never buy a Citizen watch again, for this price I expected better.

A lamp may be to hot while the light may not be sufficient. Put it in a window sil for a week or so.  Look for detail tech manuals for all types here: http://www.citizenwatch.com/downloads/tech/tech.htm

Being an Eco drive watch it needs light to make it work. Place under a light source for a few hours an see if this works. If not it will need a new power cell, which is like a rechargeable battery for them. It will need to be purchased from citizen or suitable watch maker

There could be other issues beside the battery. My best solution would be to take back to where you bought the watch, or any other authorized Citizen watch retailer for repair.
This is Citizens web site:

You can get instructions from the Citizen web site.

Go to "citizen.com" and on the upper right there is a menu. Click on "technical
support" and then on "setting instructions"

Fill in the information required from the back of your watch and then click on
"get setting instructions"

My citizen eco drive just stopped working ,iv had it less than 6mnths

Eco-drives need to be exposed to light every day. To learn how to recharge your watch, you truly need to go to the following Citizen link:

Your watch probably needs recharging. Needs to see the light every day.

I bought this watch citizen BL5334-04E year ago,

Mechanically operated date changes occur at 12 O'clock. If your watch thinks it is midnight when it is noon then it will change date.

The solution is to wind your watch on 12 hours.

Does the Citizen Calibre 2100 have a battery that i can change, its been in my top draw for over a year and has stopped working, i have left it in the daylight to charge but the eco drive needle is still...

Citizen EcoDrive does not have calibre 2100. This is ordinary quartz calibre and uses battery SR-626W. This battery will last for 2 - 3 years and is not rechargeable.

How to replaced a eco drive battery

The ECO series of Citizen's do not require battery replacement, as they are solar powered. If the watch stops due to a long period of non-use, there is a procedure in the manual as well as the Citizen website on how to get it running again. You will have to expose it to light for several hours (but not with lots of heat such as a car dash) to get it running. If you continue to have trouble, you may have a problem with the watch. I bought my wife a ladies ECO drive about 8 years ago and bought one for myself about 2 years ago and have not had a bit of problems with either. They are extremely good watches and it is nice not to have to worry about "when will the battery die?"

Restarting my Citizen Promaster Eco Divers 200 Watch

Since it's eco-drive you can just wear it for a few hours and it should self-wind. The problem is that when it sits still for more than a few days it winds down. It gets its power from the natural movement of your wrist as you walk around.

Once it starts ticking again you'll just have to set the time correctly.
