Question about HP LaserJet 2840 Printer

The error reads "Install Supplies" and won't print. Just placed a new cartridge in printer

Go to the printer panel and make sure the drum and toner carts don't show empty. Try removing and reseating the drum and the toner carts. Also, see if it will print a supplies status page from the printer interface. You can also try to hold the cancel button for 5 seconds to bypass the error. on ours the cartridges click twice to be fully seated..there are 4 cartridges in this one.. if one is not all the way down, it will error..in extreme cases if all the cartridges are in place..unplug the unit and reboot it..

Why am I getting W11 error on Epson Stylus NX420?


I ad tried all kinds of things after looking all over the internet for a solution. Finally, I found out what the problem was. The little metal clips inside that make contact with the chip... One had fallen out of place and was laying at the bottom on the print well. I retrieved it, cleaned it, carefully reinstalled it, replaced the cartridge in question and it started charging right away.

10.00.00 SUPPLIES MEMORY ERROR alternates with For help press ? Description An error has occurred in one or more of the printer supplies. Values of xx and yy are listed below: xx

  1. Turn the printer power off, and then turn the printer power on again to clear the message.

  3. If the printer has a 500-sheet Tray 3 installed, turn the printer off again and replace the print cartridge with a new HP print cartridge.

(location J97) and the

5. Replace the
DC controller PCA.

This error is normally associated with a supplies error. I have extracted information on this error from the HP 6L manual.

Error Codes
Error 10 - Supplies Memory Error 10.XX.YY Exact format is dependent on printer model
    The printer is unable to read the electronic information (elabel) on the print cartridge. This helps track page count and life of consumable.
    XX Description 00 memory error on the cartridge or 01 memory device not found
    10.00.00 Black print cartridge
    10.00.01 Cyan print cartridge
    10.00.02 Magenta print cartridge
    10.00.03 Yellow print cartridge

  1. Supplies used in newer printer models contain a memory chip. The information contained on this chip is dependent on the printer model and the supply. The error 10 indicates a problem with the printer obtaining the information from this chip. The chip may be missing or defective or contain incorrect information. There may be a problem with connection between the memory chip and DC controller. Turn the printer off/on to attempt to clear or reset the message. Remove and reinstall the supply, replace the supply.
  2. Replace the memory chip cable/connector or the DC controller.

10.00.00 supply memory error


The 10.00.00 SUPPLIES MEMORY ERROR is based on the e-label. To clear the error, do the following:
NOTE: If the error occurs, it should appear at beginning of life, causing the error message after first installing the cartridge.
Turn the printer off and on to clear the message.
Put in the old catridge and see what happens.
If OK put in the new one again.
Verify that the print cartridge is a genuine HP cartridge.
Check that the E-label reader is functioning correctly.
Check that there is contact between the E-label chip on the print cartridge and the E-label reader on the printer.
To verify this contact, insert a new print cartridge.
Remove it again.
Check for scratches on the e-label chip and on the cartridge.
If contact is being made, replace the print cartridge (part number: Q2610A).
If contact is not being made, check the toner guides to see if they are in the proper position, or that the cartridge is not damaged.
If the printer has a 500-sheet Tray 3 installed, turn the printer off again and replace the print cartridge with a new HP print cartridge.
Turn the printer on again.
If the error does not clear, turn the printer off and remove tray 3.
Turn the printer on and verify if the error clears.
HP has recently discovered that a 10.00.00 Supplies Memory Error can occur when Tray 3 is faulty.

Some printer brands have a cute scheme that reads a "new" cartridge as good, but the refilled one has a small fuse link that is burned out by the printer. Try factory new cartridges. Unplug the printer power for a bit to reset the printer.

Replaced HP LaserJet 2840 catridges and now [?][?][?][?] ! error


The OEM cartridges have a chip on them. If the aftermarket supplies do not have the right chip, missing a chip, etc., the machine will not recognize. Placing the old cartridge back in without any toner can give off the same message.

Try rebooting the printer without a cartridge in. Then install the cartridge, either one, and see if that helps. If not, wait for the OEM to arrive.

Keep getting 10.00.03 supplies error, have tried turning the machine off and on several times.


10.00.03 - The printer cannot read or write to the yellow print cartridge memory tag.

Solution:


Turn the printer off and then back on again.

If error returns, remove all print cartridges and turn off the printer.

Cold reset the printer:

Turn on the printer.

Watch the control panel.

When the memory starts counting, press and hold the green (Select) button.

Continue holding the green check button until the Ready, Data, and Attention lights flash once, and then stay on steady.

Release the check button when the Ready, Data, and Attention light are on steady.

The control panel will display SELECT LANGUAGE.

Press (Down Arrow) button once. The control panel will display COLD RESET.

Press (Select). The printer will perform a cold reset and then continue its power-on sequence.

Wait for the printer prompt to install each print cartridge.
This should return the machine to operating condition. If you still get the error, replace the yellow print cartridge.

REPLACE SUPPLIES


Make sure all cartridge are install and secured into place...(take all the cartridge out and back in ) close front door cover and it will go into cartridge calibration...If not, press the "menu" key and with the arrow go to print quality and confirm with the enter key. Go to calibration and confirm...

if its new return it to the store you brought it in,

verify you have the correct cartridges abd enure you renoved the plastic protecting the cartridge circut
