Question about Apple iTunes
There are two possibilities: either proxy is enabled or some anti virus software is blocking your connection.
Go to Internet Explorer (or which ever browsers you use) and try to disable the proxies. For IE, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Select "Connections" tab -> Settings -> Unchecked "Use a proxy server for this connection" after doing that try it now and check if its working.
If still not working disable for the mean time your anti virus and firewall to see if they are blocking the connection.

Go to System Preferences from the Apple icon menu (top left)
under the Internet & Wireless section there is a Network icon (glass ball looking thing) click on that.
green dot next to ethernet (or wireless whatever one you use) means you are connected.
yellow dot means ready but not connected.
red dot means not connected.
If you have a red dot next to the connection that you use, check your router or modem. You might have to call you ISP if the problems keep happening.
