Hello,
When I press the power button for my Sony KP-53HS30, I get no picture, but can hear audio for about 5 seconds before it turns itself off. The status light blinks red 8 times over and over, with pauses in between each set of 8. Please help!

I have just received my flyback. so i need a soldering iron to repair this? Also I did not receive any instructions, diagrams, and i can't find your free online support service.

your flyback is bad on the D board thats what makes the led blink 8 times replace the flyback and you should be fine. If you need a link on where to get the flyback and instructions on how to change it let me know and I will post a link

Heres the link, I work as one of their support techs, so I moved it to the front page so you could find it. The instructions to install it as well as the diagrams for the board removal are provided free when you purchase the part and you are also entitled to free on line instant messageing with a repair tech. Heres the link.
