Hello- Will In Houston Teas

Hi,

We just bought a new cooktop because the old cooktop was making a clicking noise even when the knobs were turned off.

So we bought a new Jenn-Air cooktop and now all 4 burners make the clicking sound when you turn any one or all four on. They srat acring and wont stop.

Any ideas. We are having Lowes come back out to replace it - however something tells me it's not the cooktop.

Same clicking as Will from Houston but only happens on the right side. No heat from either side. BC

Amana counter top gas stove when plugged in start making clicking noise and you can smell gas .

on most, your push down and turn to hi to open gas valve and turn on piezio to light burner. it sounds like you have a knob already turned on . the control under the knob may need replacing. kinda an easy replacement if you get new part. check out repairclinic.com for video(maybe) but for parts for sure. be careful. gas is explosive.

After cleaning the cooktop surface the "clicking"

I just solved the continuous sparking in my gas burner. I removed the control knobs and the rubber below those knobs. Gave the rubber and the area below it a good clean using kitchen and bath cleaning wipes that I bought from Coles. The key is to remove the water and grease from the rubber and the area below it. Good luck!

I have a gas cooktop, probably 15 years old. it was operating normally until my wife spilled water across the control knobs. The next day 3 of the 4 knobs wouldn't turn at all. Then the next day they would...

the 15 yrs old unit is made from metal the gas line or the valve compare to the new is made from alluminium or bronce,i think the unit is have a rust b4 the water spilled accros the knob,u said after 3 days di not turn at all then after next day it turn it again, the posible coz is u force to turn it the valve that coz of damage it,gas valve is sensitive if u force to turn it coz is made of metal then the unit is almost 15 yrs old.for me dont try to repair it,coz the part is expensive or if there available in the market?compare to buy an new one.

Clicking noise

Hi
Take a look at that switch and you will see that it goes around the shaft that turn the gas on, now, you will see two wires goin on top of a small electric sending unit on top of the shaft, thats whats keeping the spark ignitor goin, just repalce that small sending unit with a new one and you are done, Just pull the Knob off and open the door to reach the switches thats all...very simple. Clicking noise on gas oven

when you were cleaning the cooktop did you remove the knobs and spray ,did any liquid fall were the knobs was taken out from. if yes you wet the burner switches it should dry in a day or so depending on what you used to clean it with to speed up the process remove the knobs unplug cooktop if possible and wipe the switch area if this doesnt help take a blow dryer and dry them that way or try good old fashion wd40 it repels water ,spray each one till yu find the culprit it will stop right away.

Clicking noise on cooktop even when all burners ignite

I have a viking gas cooktop. The ignitor on one of my front burners wouldn't stop clicking even after the flame ignited. I swapped that ignitor with the ignitor from a back burner, expecting that the problem was with the ignitor and that the back burner would start to click incessantly, but at least I'd have my favorite front burner for use. Instead, the front burner was then only clicking 50% of the time and the back burner was fine, suggesting the problem was related to the burner not the ignitor. I pulled the front ignitor a bit away from the burner and now it is working normally. Hope this helps.

Gaggenau clicking

Sounds like the spill got into one of the burner switches. This is not a big problem. Once it drys out it should return to normal. However if it keeps on clicking it could mean that one of the switches shorted out and will need to be replaced. The switches are located under the burner control knobs on the valve. Hope this helps.
